I like this mod, thinking of doing it myself. But I'm picturing this happening:
Random guy: "What kind of car is that?" Me: "Scion FR-S" Random guy: "How come it's got a Toyota thing on it?" Me: "They ran out of Scion badges." Random guy: "Really?" Me: "No, actually the Toyota logo has less wind resistance, so I can go faster." Random guy: "Well hell yeah, brother!" Has anyone encountered a similar situation? I know most of us here understand the reasoning behind the swap, but I'm curious how some of you respond when asked about it. |

I ordered my badges today and the seller noted that there was no need for glue or adhesive- I saw some guys ask. Must be pins? I was all worried about how to put them on.

Did this mod today. It's pretty straight forward (1 hour total, including painting). I used an aerosol gum and adhesive remover made by Klean-Strip instead of goo-gone but I'm sure almost anything made to remove adhesive would work. I left the car in the sun for a couple hours, sprayed the remover on, let it set 20 minutes, sprayed some more on and then removed. FR-S badge comes off very easily but the extra adhesive left behind is a pain. I got the big stuff off with my finger and then sprayed adhesive remover on and buffed out the rest. Rear Scion badge is fairly easy too, used fishing line sawing from the top and then the bottom, after that it basically popped right off. Did exactly the same for the front badge but after sawing I managed to get a couple fingers under each side and pulled straight out. No scratches or chips. I did notice that when I washed the car I could see the FR-S and Scion badge outlines so I'm going to try some detailing compound I picked up. Purchased the Corolla badge (hate that I even have to say that) and then used 800 grit sand paper on it just in case to make the paint stick. Used Rustoleum Paint for Plastics (that's the actual name) and it turned out really well. No need to buy adhesive, it already came with it. Waiting for the 86 badge for the back to come in the mail, badgeless until then.
Cheers, Derrick |

I have asked this quesition in another thread about rebadging the steering wheel emblem with a Toyota but also doing the emblem in black.
1. Which vehicle from toyota do you need to order for the best fitment of steering wheel? 2. I would like it to be in Flat black or just black, paint, or plasti dip? 3. Anyone who has done this mod and is willing to make another provide the DIY instruction I would be more than willing to pay for shipping obviously the emblem and product used to paint the emblem is need be. Thanks Dan

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44720 Let me just add that their is no way I'd tamper with airbag. Who knows what will happen to that emblem if the airbag actually goes off. |

Ely can we order the badge refinshed from you in Matte black?
Or is what you see what you get and we do the work outselves? I ve never used plasti dip before, however seen a lot of people on here do so. I would order mine tomorrow do you sell them without the clips? Toyota OEM Emblem with Clips 305313710 Steering Wheel Airbag Logo 28014300 Are these Both OEM part numbers if we wanted to get them from our local dealership? Thanks Dan

quick question, i just removed my FR-S badge and i still see the shadow of where the FRS logo use to be... i cleaned, re-cleaned, waxed and still see it faintly... is there anything that can be done to get rid of that?
my guess is no since im sure it was the sun fading the area around it? |

I couldn't get rid of the fading either, but you won't see if if you rebadge toyota anyways. You might be able to use scratch remover, but go easy on it.
