From the hearsay that i've read, people kept shearing studs and breaking axles on the STIs, so they upgraded (whatever it is that makes the previous hubs and the modern hubs different)
however i think Subaru was using the same hubs since 1993, if not earlier, so i'm sure the switch in 2006 was big from an engineering standpoint.

i could be wrong (and correct me if i am)
but before the bolts see any shearing action, its the surface mating friction of the hub and wheel that has to fail first. (ie, it's never the bolts/studs that hold the wheel in place, they just provide the clamping force) now, is the clamping force better distributed in a 5X114 over X100?

I'm most likely going to get some ADV.1 ADV05.1s in black for my blue BRZ. Just haven't decided if I want the concave or super lightweight version. Most likely 18 or 19 inches probably. Here's a pic to get an idea of the color combo:

Advans are sick. Black on blue is a great combo too. i say 17s or 18s though. After seeing the GReddy car on 19s, Myself, as well as many others, agree that 19s are just TOO BIG

Hey it might just be me but those XB rims from page 31(?) were pretty awesome! What about the debut wheels that the five axis guys had on the FR-S when it first showed? I think those were pretty sick and with some two tone color options would be sick? Any thoughts?
