i just read in another thread that the car will be a 5X100

in which case my 15X7 Kosei K1's that i've had for close to a decade will fit the bill

and here i was thinking of selling them.. they might go with me to the grave

Will those fit over the WRX brakes? I had the understanding that the WRX needed 16s to clear?

Otherwise I  Kosei K1s in 15"

we'll see how the OEM brakes are going to be

if its the 2/1 pots like on my RS, then the 15's should fit.

I think i'll be happy with just a pad upgrade for the time being.

on my RS the 15's clear the front oem 2 pot with about 1/4" clearance

I really hope greddy or somebody releases a 5x114 conversion for this car. The options would be so much better. There are adapters but theyd force you to run an even higher offset and thats no bueno.

Also curious to see how much room there is up front as far as clearance goes

They are 11.6" front with 2 pot sliders and 11.4" rear with 1 pot sliders.

Has anyone released one for the WRX? If not, I doubt they will for this car anytime soon since the WRX has sales numbers that will far exceed this car for a loooong time.

I dont think any aftermarket companies released a conversion but I thought people swapped hubs off of different gen wrxs that had the 5x114 pattern. Idk though

Greddy did have the prototype on their frs. Im hoping that it becomes available to the public

most of the time people doing a new age STi swap had to get the hubs as well, so the 5X114 was a bonus

personally i don't know what happened to the 5X100, used to be pretty popular.

It is still for some cars, especially ones that run a high offset. Not many wheels out there that are 5x100 and run less than a +30 offset. Im trying to shoot for +20 or so

Greddy used spacer adapters, which is what you said you did NOT want.

We had a conversation about it on here and while I think some still believe that create a hub conversion in 1 week or less time, I believe the opposite for a number of reasons (time, pointlessness for a show car, wheel fitment based on width/offset/backspacing (they stuck out around an inch too far), etc).

You may be able to just swap STI hubs if that's what the WRX guys do. I'm not a Subaru guy really so I don't know what needs to be changed for that.

So far I'm fine with 5x100. I wish there were some 17x8.5" wheels to get the suggested width for 235/40s, but I'll just have them buldge a bit more and run them on 17x8s. Or get Rotas, you can get them in 17x8.5 easily enough if I can find some that are light enough. There are a few other options too but it's limited (I haven't spent more than an hour or so looking though).

Ya id hate to run spacer adapters.

Limited choices for what I want (17x9/18x9.5 with around +20 to +25 offset) I wouldnt even consider rota but thats just me. Varrstoen makes wheels in 5x100 with that offset but currently just 18s for that bolt pattern. Hopefully they get 17s in their lineup.

I'm pretty sure soon enough, maybe really soon after the release, Toyobaru will release the wheel fitment to 5 X 114.3

if they wanted 5x114.3 then they would have just done so from the beginning. the 5x100 is an off the shelf subaru part, and likely very cheap...

the only thing i can hope for is that the wheel manufacturers get privy to just how popular the car is and start making more aggressive wheel sizes/offsets that fit perfect.

hubs are ridiculously simple products and since subaru uses studs, they could drill any combination at production without too much trouble.

i don't think we'll ever know why a manufacturer would bounce around a 14mm variable :/

and if they are using off-the sheft units, you gotta remember that hubs for non-drive wheels are different than those with axles in them. Subaru has a small offering of their vehicles in FWD option, so their rear hubs would be closed off, but... to say that they are using a surplus of FWD rear hubs to put in the front of the FRS/BRZ/FT86 is kinda off the wall
