honestly the fact that its already september and this header was promised back in JULY it has ruined any plans i had, as its getting colder now and the summer tires are coming off, i have no want or care to add power as winter is approaching only as salt will hit the roads.
am i mad? no, its going to be a great product. But i am very dissapointed. It irritates the shit out of me when deadlines are told, or things are said to make people make plans, only to get nothing. i'm not pointing fingers, but its annoying, pick a Date and stick to it. at this point i'm just here to wait, and i've got all the fucking time in the world at this point. give me dat illegal shiz. |

In Alaska, is always cold. Header good all day!
I guess it's just weird for me to think of someone making plans on something so unsure. I could see if they were working with you one on one and promised a date, but making a general announcement of a hopeful date seems much less uncertain to me and not worth planning around. I would've planned my mods as if the header had never existed, which, to a degree, it doesn't. Planning around a rumor is a sure way to meet disappointment. Live life! Have fun! Go sideways! |

GAHH I really want to wait, but at what point does waiting become a detriment?
Seriously, make multiple versions and give people a "core credit" should they want to upgrade later. I would even pay full retail when the revision came out if it was a significant difference. I know you haven't technically "lost" customers yet but with the JDL header being out now and its not a huge performance difference, they might steal me away. I know you are all about putting the best product out, but it's simple as making a disclaimer that *it's not the finished product, still working on developing further* can qualm the masses and still get a fantastic product out to market. Win/win if you ask me. Plus, who doesn't enjoy getting that upgrade every year? We already do that shit with our phones and tv's and computer components, even though those aren't important items. Man, it's infuriating. Like having a thoroughbred jogging in a small fenced-in back yard while you've got people throwing money at you to let it run.

Headers will probably be my only exhaust mod, so I want to get the best ones on the market. Everyone keeps hyping these up but I don't see any reason why these are particularly better than other high-quality headers on the market.

You need a tune and a good flowing exhaust to get all you can out of them, especially if you're going for high quality headers. |

I'd be open to doing a tune and other exhaust components, but my goal is to even out the torque dip while keeping the car reasonably quiet. I'm not looking for anything too loud and I'm not making a dyno queen, so I'd probably be keeping the stock muffler too.

Something like the Perrin resonated is really really quiet even with the header. Something with a bigger resonator and muffler would work for you.

I've been toying with this idea as well. I've got a non-resonated Perrin CBE and I'm thinking of going resonated and throwing on a header + overpipe + front pipe. I've even toyed with the idea of going to stock CBE and getting header + overpipe + front pipe to keep the noise down. I know that others on the forum have said that they're going that route too. The stock CBE doesn't seem too restrictive from what I've read. So that might not be a bad choice for those who don't want a lot of noise.
