What's your STi?

Until the true STI comes out, what components would you use to build your own "STi"? This means better handling, better performance, better looks, but not sacrificing the former. Also, should look stock - no unmatched parts, wires and cables running around the engine compartment, etc. Last, cost is a constraint - something someone would pay for an "STi".

This is a thought experiment. There's no reason to wait for the STi if you can build it, right?

1 1/2 in lower?
17/18 8.5" front
17/18 9.5" rear - too wide? if so, how to get sortaflush?
Big brakes or just upgraded slotted/steel lines/better pads?
Innovate SC or other turbo?
KW Coilovers or less expensive fixed height coilovers ok?
Effective but not gaudy rear wing
Stylized tail lights
Front splitter, rear splats, side rockers
Side mirrors?
...

Wow. Cant believe it took a whole 3 posts. Lol

Anyway. I think you cant lower it more than an inch. Anything else loses function and wouldnt be on an sti model. I think the ts will pretty much be it, but for the cost its only worth it to "build your own" if you were going to go aftermarket for those itemz anyway. Otherwise the sti is usually the cheaper version.

Diff springs/struts. Bigger sways. Better brakes. More power through intake, exhaust, and ecu esentially. Oh, and a big ass functional wing. Haha

Well if you already knew what I was going to say Mike, why'd you ask?

1 1/2 in lower
18 8.5" front
18 9.5" rear - too wide? / or 18x 8.5 square...
Big brakes with steel lines/better pads...
Innovate SC or other turbo!
fixed height struts
Effective but not gaudy rear wing
Side mirrors...This is street legal, right?

(I could perhaps live without)
Stylized tail lights
Front splitter, rear splats, side rockers

SC or Turbo is a pipe dream, really... no pun intended!

This would be my plan:
Buy all legit STi body parts from japanparts.com.(minus the big wing)
Get upgraded catted headers (FA20Club, or Nameless)
ECUTek tune
Get the STi muffler and use the JDM tips.
STi springs
STi strut tower bar.
Wilwood bbk and put STI stickers on them.

BOOM homemade USDM BRZ STi/tS!

Oh really? I have Sciobaru also When I mean STi I mean OEM++ or whatever you want to call it.

BTW, I don't see the STi concept as that far fetched. It's not slammed, doesn't have a whole body kit.. it's just upgraded.

Speaking of upgrades, I was confused looking at brake size:

FR-S/BRZ Specs: VENTILATED DISC 11.6 IN. / VENTILATED DISC 11.4 IN.

BRZ Premium Global: 16" / 15"
http://www.subaru-global.com/13brz_spec.html

Those are pretty big brakes for 17"s no? Is that a typo?

You build is incomplete without several dozen decals.
