Don't know about the comp seats - there are a few warnings from Chevy engineers that they are pretty hard over on corvetteforum. I would get the faux-suede seat inserts though - better grip and don't get as hot.

January might bring the new Z07 but it is going to be $90k plus and for me it's complete overkill--the base Vette with the Z51 will be more than enough to keep me entertained.

I forget what early review I read, but the journalists said that the base seats were plenty good for track use, and much better for road use.

I'd save my pennies for the hotter model if it's anything like the upgrade you got with the C6Z.

I'm not sure about comp seats yet, but honestly, I'd probably live with it. I can't imagine it'd be much worse than my Mustang's Recaros.

Is it just me, or does the C7 look too high & way under-tired?

It looks phenomenal from all angles--except anything that involved the rear view--still trying to have it grow on me.

I can't believe it was quicker around the road course that the GT-R--which inspires extreme confidence. Great showing for the (nearly) base C7!

Same tire sizes as the outgoing straightbody C6. 245/285. And the too high thing is a function of everyone shooting the damned cars from splitter height. Also, remember, that is basically C5/C6 suspension under there. You can adjust the ride height and corner balance with the bolts on the leaf springs.

I'm planning on buying a White C7 2LT/Z51 within the next few months. I was gonna wait and see about the next Hi-Po model but the rumor mill is speculating that starting price is to be in the $90k range...I'm sorry but for $40k price difference the whole damn car better be carbon fiber and make 650HP...which neither will be the case. They'll make it wider so the "purists" can put their steamroller tires back on (seriously 355's are too damn wide for a car making "only 450hp). The engine will push 550HP (This is my bet) and there will be subtle design cues to differentiate it from the Stingray. That doesn't sound like $40k worth of difference....

Especially when companies like Pfadt are planning on making the C7 look like this: (Not a fan of the wing but the rest is sick).

C7 Halo Model

It's got widebody problems.

From the leaked CAD pictures, we're probably looking at another blower car.

Are they targeting a lower age range? Disc golf instead of regular golf?

I traded my C6 in on a truck.
It's a great Grand Tourer, but NOT a sports car.
And if you think you've got quality issues with your FR-S, you're in for a whole new experience with a Chevrolet.
You WILL know the service manager on a first name basis.

My C6 required 6 fixes in the first two months I owned it.
Stay away from the plastic fantastic.

That's funny. I've been arms deep in 4 of them, both LS2s and LS3s. Each of those owners had zero warranty issues. Sorry you got a lemon.

Nothing against superchargers in general, but I really wish GM would throw a couple of turbos on the vette.

These new Z06's(Z07's)/ZR1's should be pretty epic as far as performance goes, i just hope they don't turn out having too much power(see Clarkson's review of the F12). ~550hp for the Z06/7 and at most 650 for the ZR1, after that just make it lighter and better to drive. More hp then that and its more a question of how much power is the traction control letting you have, which seems silly to me.

As far as i'm aware, the plant that was manufacturing the LS7 is only staying open to produce them for the new Z28, i'd be surprised to see them in the C7.

So the car that currently holds second place out of every single production car that Motor Trend has had around Laguna Seca (beating out such cars as the Porsche 911 GT3, the Ferrari 458, and the McLaren MP4-12C) isn't a sports car?
