I have woodpeckers and the dealer wont replace my pump because its AFTER the vin on the TSB. Such bullshit.

I believe I may also have this woodpecker sound.

One thing I noticed, is I can only really hear the sound in the cabin.

The sound appeared an hour after putting my first tank of gas in the car with ethanol content.

Crickets I can live with, but this sound is annoying.

Hoping that going back to ethanol free fixes it, but I fear the "damage" is done.

i have talked to autonation toyoto and scion

they said that even with replacement, the cricket sound comes back?

what this madness!

You know, revision two to the TSB dated 17 October 2013 is out. There is a new pump with a new part number. Read about it in post number 3077 of the Engine idle chirping (cricket) noise poll, here:http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9836

Wow thanks for that info. I was just on that thread and i must have missed that. From what i see though, it only applies to FRS. Is this true?

Yes Tony, sorry didn't see you were a BRZ guy. They actually came out with the new subaru pump part number a couple weeks before the FR-S. That same thread maybe two or three pages before that talks about the BRZ part number.
