New Wheels. What do I need...

Hello, as the title says, I plan on buying new wheels and have questions about what to do / expect. I'm going to buy 18' wheels, staggered 8.5/9.5 setup with a 1-1.5" drop (eibach prokit or sportline)

And that is all I know so far. This will be the first time I'll be modding a car of any kind and pretty much noobish in this area. Besides the wheel and springs, what else will I need to purchase or change for a smooth ride? I know a lot of other people are running this kind of set-up, what should I expect? i.e. dampers, shocks, struts, alignment, cambers...
Going springs, how long will they last me? Will I need to get coilovers in the near future?

My goal is just a DD, stance, looks. No track what so ever. No speeding (for the most part), no racing.

Any info would be great! thanks 86 fam!

Besides wheels and springs as you mentioned, I would suggest also putting tires on the wheels.

Ide get better shocks if you want any sort of comfort after a drop..because let's face it this car is not really comfortable even at stock height. But then you're getting into coilover price territory anyway. Plan to spend well over $700 on a nice suspension setup otherwise $200 springs will still do the trick with nothing else needed.

You can't drop the car and preserve any sort of ride quality.

Shorter springs have to be stiffer which will give you a harder ride. Stiffer springs MUST use stiffer dampers which will ruin the ride.

Larger wheels will be heavier which will make the ride harsher. Lower profile larger tires are very heavy and will do the same.

Lower profile tires will make the ride very harsh.

Basically your plan will make your car look like a race car and drive like a pig. Most serious drivers spend their money to do the opposite.

You cannot achieve all of your objectives because they are mutually exclusive.

If you want proof, watch the heads of the occupants of cars looking like the one you want to create, they'll look like those wobbly dash ornaments.
