I've owned my BRZ for 7 days now so I'm still obsessing over compiling my wish list.

Wow... this thread is a real eye-opener.

First, I was relieved to see that I'm not the only one who spends hours a day perusing this forum. (Less now than when I first got the car.)

Then I was surprised to see that most of the people who've posted today are doing it at work. Not only that, but they seem almost proud of it. Don't get me wrong, I always knew that there were a lot of people who had easy jobs and screwed around and browsed the Internet while on the job, I just always figured they were women.

Me, personally, I work for a living. My unhealthy obsession with all things 86 has to wait till I get home.

I still don't have either car, but I still find myself on this site reading up and seeing what other people do to their cars for the meantime.

Haha. That's a good one bro. I have three jobs, and one of them (the one I'm at now) has a daily upload which takes about 15-20 minutes to design a spreadsheet then another few hours for upload. Also, I sit in front of a computer all day.

Just because we are logged in all day doesn't mean we don't get some work done here and there .

Hasn't stopped me lol. I'm either on here, planning a mod path, or researching the best prices for stuff down the road about 2 hours a day depending on free time. I'm incredibly cheap which is rarely good for moding yet I never seem to learn lol. Only permanent mods aren't going on the car yet since its a lease (blacking out the inside of the headlight housing comes to mind). I've already spoken to the Toyota service manager where I purchased the lease and he doesn't care what I do as long as if I decide to turn it in at the end that it is stock. Plan to buyout anyway but only time will tell.

Well, my lease gives me a discount if I buy it out at 30k miles, so that's when I'm planning to own it. I have about 18k miles to plan out my mods and I'm usually thinking about them daily. I've changed my mind so many times though. I don't think anything is set until I buy stuff.

well if you can control yourself saving up for mods never hurts. My problem is that I cant ever wait to do anything so I buy the cheapest possible thing for the mods category I'm in just to change my car somehow and am never fully satisfied. Ill learn eventually lol.

Same goes for me. I work a desk job, and I'm constantly on the phone w/insurance. If anyone knows anything about calling insurance, they know hold times can be as long as an hour. Needless to say, that hour is spent on the threads adding to my FR-S wishlist.

Yes...I am on hold right now...

Its gotten "worse" since I finally placed my deposit for my BRZ that arrives next month. Looking at all the things I'll be upgrading to or modding.

Luckily I'll be on vacation after next week, for two weeks then it will (hopefully) be here after I get back.

I know how you feel. I'm deployed to the taint of the world, and about two months into my deployment I bought a used FR-S through this forum. I'd been a member for almost a year and had like 3 posts. Now it's been another two months, and look at my post count now. I've still never laid eyes on my own car, and when I get home I'm going to have a big ass pile of brand new parts to install while I think about how empty my bank account is. Thanks, FT86Club. I could've been somebody...
