I'll be there. I always am. I probably won't be going to the Cars & Coffee's in Novi anymore though. Really disappointing turnout last time.

Hey everyone! I got my car this summer and have been on the forum for a bit, but mostly in the marketplace. I'm located in the Tri-Cities and would like to meet up with others who have an interest in the twins!

Welcome I am near flint an I try to make it out to a lot of local car shows drift events and track days. It has been hard lately but I do my best. I will also hopefully have some free t shirts for everyone at the next meet.

I was at the last MDU meet on the weekend of the Woodward Dream Cruise, but I didn't have my car with me unfortunately. I have class and work though so I don't go very often to meets, but I would like to start making more time!

I am working on something that is not set in stone but if anyone wants to meet flogging molly I might be able to get us special parking where everyone in line gets to see our cars as something to look at while you wait to get in and get us a meet and greet with the band. It will be in the spring and is just in the beginning stages but is something I have in the works.

Hell yeah! I go to this show every year anyway.

Speaking of shows, anyone else going to Queens of the Stone Age tonight?

So I have a question about a sound my car makes. After the car warms up, If I accelerate when the rpm is below 1500rpm, The engine makes a loud, kinda rattling noise. Its louder/more pronounced the more I press the accelerator pedal.

I try to avoid conditions that produce that noise but it's kind of difficult to avoid it in stop and go traffic. Speeds below ~14mph in 2nd put the rpm below 1500rpm and that speed is too fast for the transmission to let me into first.

Is there something wrong? Normal noise? Any ideas?

Typical boxer motor when you give it too much gas for the low rpms. That raspy sound goes away as soon as you get enough revs.

Good to see new people posting when it seems a few people on this board were jumping ship. Welcome!

I'll be at Cars and Coffee Saturday. Not sure what I'll be driving though- BRZ or something random from work that's not as exciting.

Got a new job in Ann Arbor, so I'll be moving to the area next month. I was looking into your vehicle regulations and just got really excited to join you blessed people. No emissions, no safety inspections, and no front plates!!!!! Am I correctly understanding that in Michigan you don't have to do anything but register and continue to renew, no BS, am I missing something?

Nope. That's it. The downside is that so many people just let their junkers go so you get so many barely running cars driving around. Also, Insurance is going to screw you.

Yeah, in some ways I wouldn't mind vehicle inspections because I'm really tired of seeing rusted mid 90s Chevy Luminas on the side of the highway minus a wheel. And most functional lighting, windows, etc...

Wait til you see the cost of your car insurance.. You will go from excited to very unhappy really quick.

Regardless.. WELCOME to the area! Let us know if you have any questions about the region, places to live, etc.. We have a few people from AA so I'm sure they can help with any questions you might have.

Good luck with the move and hopefully you can get settled in and come out to a meet sometime soon.

Also some of the most expensive gas in the country (often the most expensive in the continental US) and some absolutely abysmal roads. Between that and the 2ft salt crust for a good part of the year I'd argue this is one of the worst states for cars.
