More bad news regarding gaskets, seems both gaskets for the overpipe have failed.
I have replaced one to find out the other one between the headers and overpipe is leaking too!! The quality of the supplied gaskets in my opinion are not the best, considering I installed my exhaust just over 3 months ago and I am not happy with the price I paid for a replacement. Looking into high quality gaskets, If anyone has suggestions? |

Anyone else see the Titanium tips at 86fest for the Milltek? Like the idea but the execution was off. The roll on the slant cut was poor as was the 'burn' to get the color on the edges. I hope it was a prototype because the idea is nice.

I felt a tiny leak in my GReddy SP Elite exhaust flange and in my buddy's. I applied Permatex copper gasket sealant liberally to both sides of our newly replaced gaskets and replaced GReddy's cheapo supplied bolts (I stripped 3 of the 4 bolts between both our exhausts because they couldn't withstand OEM torque specs) with stock bolts. Was able to fix both our leaks; now our cars respond and sound slightly better.

Love the titanium tips for the Milltek, I might get that to replace my original stainless steel milltek tips. Not sure why you say the execution is off because Milltek uses two sheet smooth weld that has a more flattened sleeker look. It is not rolled because in order to have a more aggressive slant which Milltek has achieved and other's can't, it must use a different welding process. I like the color as it is a gradient shade of gradual color and not solid burnt blue. Then again, it's all personal preference.

Did you or the installer heat cycle the system after installation? I know mine went through a heat cycle after installation where all the bolts were retightened after the exhaust was heated up to temperature and then cooled down. After you get your new gaskets, do a heat cycle. I've had my system over 3 months and have no problems at all. Good luck!

Unless you think bad craftsmanship is a matter of 'personal preference', you're missing my point. Until I see a pic of a better unit, I'll trust my own eyes that the piece I saw indicates the product I would receive. Here's a pic of their matte finish. This is the quality I'm talking about, or lack off. This is NOT expert craftsmanship or treatment on the finish, and not something I would pay for to put on my car. The actual polished tip on display w/ the bluing was worse than even this if you look straight on at the edges (which they hide in the pic). I'll agree that the gradual powder bluing is nice though. Personal preference? Ok. Versus Greddy and Tomei below... (Other's can't replicate the Milltek slant? Come on..... )![]() ![]() ![]()

I ran a full milltek exhaust system on my previous car, a 2008 VW R32 and absolutely loved it. Headers, downpipes, test pipe, the whole 9. I can post a clip of that if anyone cares. The clamps the exhaust came with weren't the best and had to be replaced to fix an exhaust leak but otherwise, awesome exhaust system.

I understand your point, however you are comparing apples to oranges. The design and manufacturing process of the Milltek involves "TWO Sheets" of high quality titanium. The Greddy uses ROLLED sheets thus the thicker tip edges. You also can't justify how much percentage titanium is within the alloy combination because titanium will break if you try to roll it to the angle close to the Milltek degree. The Tomei exhaust below is ONE sheet of titanium with flat tip, thus you will not find any welding edges and cannot be used to compare at all.

Where did you get yours from? I like the low growl of my resonated, sometimes, you just get used to it and it becomes background music. ![]()
