Congrats, they are not that hard to do but having two guys makes it a lot fast especially in back. The fronts you can do without removing everything I just unbolted the brake line and ABS line from the strut and I was able to do everything with them still in the car. Just made it a little quicker.

Wouldn't mind some thoughts, the more I drive the FR-S the more I notice just how slowly it rev's and drops with the clutch disengaged.
On my stock crank Pulley are a couple of small holes drilled just part way through that are balancing holes. I'm assuming that the crank was balanced with the flywheel, clutch & crank pulley bolted together. To do things totally correct I would assume that the engine should be disassembled, bolt the new parts on the crank and have it all balanced.
If it were a race car I'd probably do all of that but for an every day street driver, I'm thinking the balancing holes were very small so the degree of original balancing needed was minimal. I'll be installing my aluminum pulley soon. I see it as an easy and cheap alternative to a light weight flywheel.
I had a car with a lightweight flywheel years ago and it did rev a bunch quicker which was nice but the down side was it made clutch engagement difficult. I really had to use a lot of revs to keep the engine from stalling because of the lack of the flywheel effect. Hopefully the pulley will allow it to rev quicker for downshifts without messing up the standing start clutch engagement.

Its not a huge difference. Not enough to effect clutch engagement.

I didn't think the pulley would affect clutch engagement. I was suggesting a light weight flywheel might depending on how light it was.

Perrin's lightweight crank pulley provides a noticeable difference. Mine has been on the car a couple thousand miles without issue.

The real difference is the free revving and perceived improved acceleration. For the money, it's a fairly inexpensive mod that provides a noticeable improvement in drivability.

Seeing as how I have a lightweight pulley and flywheel, I can let you drive mine sometime and you can see how it feels. I have 18k miles on the car and I think the pulley went on around mile 300 with no issues yet. The engine revs much faster, and drops revs just as fast, shifting can be a chore as I still get miss shifts going from 1st to second on occasion (embarrassing).

There is no added vibration or noise as far as I can tell, of course I'm so used to how my car feels at this point I doubt I would notice it either way. I am so glad the weather is cooling off soon, i need to do some work to the car, find some rattles that are bugging the crap out of me, replace pads and fluids, and reroute my air lines for my turbo. I also need to clean my air filter which I am dreading since I have to remove my front bumper to get at it. I'll use that opportunity to do some deep cleaning and tighten up all the clamps on my IC piping just in case.
