So cracking the ECU, in effect, also cracked ECUTek? That's pretty surprising as the ECUTek folks were saying that other tools (including Subaru/Scion dealer ones) would not be able to read the ECU once ECUTek license is applied. You guys may have just killed ECUTek!

Ecutek can't claim that their roms are untraceable. If you changed something and subaru or Toyota want to know about it, they can do so I'm sure.

My goal isn't to harm any business. Our only goal is to give people the ability to get their ecu tuned by anyone they want, including themselves. Until then, they can run on Vishnu's baseline maps appear to be better resolved than the ecutek tuner tuned roms I've seen. I think you guys are going to be excited at what is to come

Highly likely they are already, or will be shortly, working on Vortech and Innovate tunes.

Last I inquired about it, they were going to reach out to Vortech this week. I hope our resident tuners are able to monetize their work on this product and adopt it as another tuning option for us.

I would be really interested in what this could do to a stock car. The ECUTEK Stg 1 flash usually lays down 10-13hp along with a bunch of other goodies (2Step Launch Control,
Increased REV Limit, Speed Governor Removed). I'm assuming that in the long term the tunes available will just get better and better, and eventually there will be a tune for a lot of different combinations of add ons. This will mean that this is a great investment for the long term.

Is this similar to the Hondata world that I'm used to where you could just upload the tunes that others have created? I've got no experience tuning so me using this product would just be grabbing others maps to upload. I can see this as a great product, but I'm wondering how long it will take for trustworthy maps to be available when I say add a full exhaust, but a different intake than the ones Vishnu have tested with.

Is this the product I should be looking at?

FYI if you put your stock ROM into the ECU then anyone can read and flash away all day. Only with a RaceROM file is there any security. EcuTek went to great lengths to make sure that's the case, and why we send a stock tune to every customer. So unless you're trying to read a tuned file, you'll have no issue using this or another piece of software.

Hi Mike,
We definitely read an Ecutek RaceRom file today. The car was equipped with mapswitching, FFS, auto blip, and launch control.

Here is it opened up with the OpenFlash tuning software (Tuner Pro) using the standard XDF File for the ZAJA00C rom.

This customer actually went to get custom tuned on the dyno by Shiv earlier tonight. I believe he ended up removing the Ecutek tune and went with an OpenFlash Tablet. I'll be getting dyno results tomorrow comparing stock, the previous ecutek tune and the OpenFlash tune. I'll post them up if it's ok with the customer (he is active on this forum).

Also, here are the 3 extra fuel, advance and ignition timing maps that are stuffed inside the ecutek rom. Big props to mad_sb for discovering and adding them to the XDF file.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Can you also confirm if real-time tracing is working in TP with this package?

So does this mean that potentially you can flash the RR features back on? Essentially editing the maps yourself. Any idea if this was a fully locked ECUtek tune?

Yea we've been lied to on this board for over a year, hard to imagine.

One simple question for Vishu, how are you dealing with the tip-in knock issues that have plagued a lot of the Ecutek tuners ?

Probably by editing some tables
