I want a 2nd car bad. Something turbo and 4-door. I'm leaning WRX/STi but I might buy a 4-door MKV GTI also. Don't call my crazy but I even like the old SRT-4 Neons.
I'd love a E39 M5 but I'm afraid of fixing random shit that might go wrong on that car. I also wanna start a 4x4/Jeep project!!!! AHHHH! Cars is the worst hobby ever! Lol.

I had an E60, 545i in 6-speed manual. Great car, loved the power, but it sure was damned expensive to repair and maintain. SEVERAL oil and coolant leaks, flushed the system a few times myself, electrical components started failing; it was such a money pit. I love the E39, square body type...those would probably be the best out of all the BMW series. M5 or 540i would be the way to go, just keep some $$$ lying around for the parts and repairs. . |

When I got married my wife had a Merc C-class that was an absolute money pit. Seemed like it cost $500 at every other maintenance interval. I consider it one of my greatest marital triumphs, that I got her to sell the C and now she drives a TC1. And loves it.

I'd recommend you get an sti, those are mostly bulletproof and have nearly everything you could want from the get go. Get a tune and you should be good to go.

I'm looking at paying cash for something used but I could also pay the FR-S off now and finance something new or nearly new also. Then FR-S can get more racecar mods and I won't feel guilty for breaking it.

it was a 98. I don't really understand it, but my father-in-law insists on keeping 3 Mercedes. A 1989 560SEL (ok that one is pretty rare and I understand keeping it), a 1996 S600 coupe, and a 2002 S600. Between the 3 there is something constantly breaking/requiring expensive repair. Just a black hole of financial woes. Must be a Chinese/Viet thing.

it's the ballin life style. S600? that's top of line rick ross boss type level ish.
20 years ago that is ... lol my parents are the same way. I'm happy with my modern day econobox rather than a tank that guzzles gas and guzzles cash every time it needs service. |
