Look for the asterisks next to tire mfg in the results and notice how many people did not use the same brand throughout the event.

15-20 runs, on street tires. That's about what the FWD (esp MINI and ITR) guys were getting out of a set of Hoosiers. I hope those Toyos really do go away next season due to the treadwear ratings, because they violate the intention of running a street tire.

You got this half right, Hurst was on the same tires both days. He coned a run on Thursday that would have put him in the lead.

Plus he drove Very well.

Kind of inaccurate though since my car 8 STX has one next to it and my ZII's were on the entire event.

Did you check-in more than one set of tire brands during tech? Maybe that's where the asterisk was coming from. I'm sure impound was checking tire brands each day, too, so it seems odd that they'd get that wrong.

255 or 245.. RS3's is only a 1 lbs. difference between them and 0.6" of tread width.

On a 9" wheel, it appears the 245 seems to be the better choice with a RS3, due to the software sidewall. 255 appears to be the winner when going ZII though.

Question: are the TRD style under car braces legal in STX?
To me the rules sorta say yes, but don't come right out and give a straight answer. Typical ambiguous answer that a person open to disaster.
If its no then what class would a person end up in?
Thanks for all the replies sure to come
I am a little lazy in reading all 22 pages.

I do not believe so. Extra bracing (TRD is just the same as any other aftermarket according to SCCA) will go to *SP (hasn't been assigned a Street Prepared class yet) so Street Mod for now.

I've run 245 RS3 and 255 ZII on 17x9 and I prefer the turn in on the ZII but when hot on an abrasive surface the RS3 even though a size smaller feel like they have more overall grip. For price I think I'm gonna go back to 245 RS3.

Think the price for the 255 vs 245 RS3 was something like $12. Made it harder to choose.

I mean price of RS3 vs ZIIs. I'm not actually sure 245 to 255 makes that large of a difference.

I looked yesterday, and the difference was only $1.
