Or you could hit up someone who's showing and who still has a free admission for a passenger.

Jack is friends with the guy and he quoted him 240 for his interior pieces. He told me to call them and tell me he sent me and ask for a quote I just never got around to it.

If you're paying for it, you might as well learn how to fix it. Besides, this car is surprisingly easy to work on, Toyota and Subaru engineers do a pretty good job of making things accessible. Except the sparkplugs. Don't get me started on the spark plugs.

Redleader is spot on. How can you ever learn to do anything if you're not allowed to touch it. Many of us have been working on cars all our lives. We had to start somewhere. Possibly your dad wants you to go your whole life and never learn how to fix anything? Perhaps some day he would let you learn under the supervision of those of us that are experienced. I have 45 years of experience in maintenance, rebuilding, fabrication, design, engineering, Modifying etc....
I know i'm just one of many in this group that is more than qualified to teach you. I've always felt sorry for those who have made it to 30 and don't know which end of a screw driver to hold onto. I'm sure you don't want to be one of them. Hope it works out for you.

I remember the first person to take me under their wing and show me how things worked... I was the best man at his wedding years later and we have been close friends for over 10 years building crazy stuff. He will be the best man at my wedding this October.
Another friend I call my brother was met the same way and we too have done some wild swaps and crazy projects. Hell actually both my Groomsmen fit this description.

It turns into close friends and family all through those experiences. Don't get me wrong I have met a lot of jerks to and made an ass of myself more than once. I probably will again that should be no surprise. But the good far out weighs the bad.

So either way, if you want to learn cars even if you cannot work on yours at this point go jump in on someone else's. There are many others just like you who want to learn more and there is no better way then to make friends with fellow enthusiasts and enjoy a great Mod Day with food.

I will admit though, with all the modding I have done in the short time of owning the car... I have no desire to change the spark plugs on this car and I am glad I got the extended contract from Scion to handle everything. I can't remember if it covers just 2 years and 24,000 miles for the free service or if its the full 100,000 miles and 5/6 years... I should look lol.

You have to buy the ticket. Use the coupon code "ARIZONA86" to get $5 buck off HIN.

You get $10 off if you register your car for the show.

Man, that would be awesome. I had a friend who was going to cover my ticket til I get paid on Friday but if you don't mind me tagging along that would be sweet.

Edit: Just saw @FR-Shadow already hit you up. No worries if you can't do it, appreciate the offer :-)
