Cross would you modify the tune after receiving it?

Roughing in fields is a great way but think about this, are you familiar with how using boost works? You have a 12.5:1 compression motor way above the factory level of compression for adding boost and for one important reason, knock when boosting destroys a motor. They stay between 8-9:1 for a reason its safer.
Now you can do it obviously but doing it with E85 is safer and gives better results anyway with its ability to cool the intake charge and resist knock.

If you set everything to 0 and boost the motor stock the factory ECU catching you before you hurt something is a BIG gamble. Jack even mentions pulling a lot of spark and then working your way back up which I am sure you heard too.

I wish you luck, definitely error on the side of caution while doing it. I hope all turns out well.

But however back to the E85 files and finding out exactly what the legality issue is preventing their release and what we can do to over come it as customers.
Only Jack can answer this for us.

Do you mean the E85 tune, knowing me yes... but then I can't leave anything alone.

I will be taking somewhat of an opposite approach by slowly raising boost in stages and seeing how the engine reacts. One of the advantages with the electric supercharger is that you have very direct control over boost independent of what the engine is doing. In addition I won't be dealing with much boost in my first prototype I'll feel lucky if I see 3 psi at lower RPMs, and the higher RPMs go boost will fall.

I wonder by modifying the tune if we can argue it's not coming from jack.

We need input though!

Are you using the Unichip to control it or an outside source? I would assume outside but thought I would ask as I believe the Q+ does have outputs.

Also with 12.5:1 and 3 PSI I think you would be surprised what a difference the power level is. When done right High Compression and Boost is amazing. If you could I would suggest looking into using E85 if your not already, keep yourself a little safer.

How about this, Jack I will pay the 290 right now if you include the E85 tune thats not released and I will go through it and make the changes I want releasing you from any liability should it somehow get out to others by means none of us know.... lol

Would that work? Or can I just sign a waver and be a tuner after paying who is testing it for you I am happy to do that as well. Releases you from all liability if I am just a tester of it. Granted I can't share it but well at least those here would feel like it was moving forward.

The Q has extra outputs too, the Q+ adds additional outputs as well as drivers. We're using an RC Brushless motor/controller that uses simple servo signaling. We'll be using one of the digital outputs set up as a duty cycle signal tied to a boost map. You just have to set the signal to a frequency compatible with the servo, and calculate the duty cycle % to servo % based on frequency.

Very nice I will have to follow your build this will be interesting to see in action. Any concern about the servo sticking or malfunctioning?

It's not actually a servo it's just a brushless motor controller that uses servo type signaling so nothing to stick. It's all electronic except the motor directly driving the compressor wheel.

It's a pretty slick setup and the unichp seems perfect for this sort of application. So far signaling looks good on the osciliscope, of course you never know until you connect it all up and test it.

I look forward to seeing that test!

So is there or are there any plans to have a more centralized location for maps and sharing maps? I'm trying to get the LC and N2O controller features working and I just realized I need access to the wholesale site (closed on weekends). I also noticed there's 93 maps on there and only 91 on the main unichip website. It would be nice to not have to hop between sites to find the map you need.

BII302... Thanks for the post.

Unichip Wholesale is a different company... if you're looking for stuff from them or stuff they offer, you have to contact them.

Cheers,
Jack

phanguy... thanks for the post.

We have the USB programming cable, but we don't have the 5-way map switch. I can give them a call and see what's up with your order if you want?

Cheers
