I think this is it for the rest of the year.

9/15 – SVR SCCA Barstow
9/22 – Det-SCCA Silverdome / NWOR SCCA Toledo Express Airport / WMR SCCA LCC
9/29 – MSCC @ Macomb Community College South Campus
10/6 – Detroit SCCA – Belle Isle
10/13 – CCM Poletown / NWOR SCCA Toledo

I'll be at the SCCA event on Belle Isle. Not sure on the rest of them.

I eat at Roast quite often actually, I am a previous owner, I now own a Ford Focus ST.

By all means... let us know if you have any questions or want advice on anything from cosmetic to mechanical mods, etc.. We have a pretty diverse group with expertise in a lot of areas, so I'm sure we can help you out.

What cosmetics were you thinking? I've done a lot on my car and can give you some ideas and tell you what NOT to do.. hehe

I'll try to check out Roast soon! I've never been before.

Also, Track Day at Waterford Hills on Oct 13th. Is anyone here going? I'm going to try to be there to watch and take pics.

Just thought I'd ask around here since I'm looking for a set of stock rims. I know people are upgrading so let me know.

Hmmmm, I may try to do that one if I'm free that weekend. Gotta bust the cherry on the new car sometimes...

Much obliged,
I threw a Stivo Ducktail Spoiler on, and removed the FR-S badge in the rear. I'm looking to get some cool new front headlights. What do you suggest is a fun DIY kinda deal? Thank you

Restaurant week is coming up, a fun/cheap way to check out a couple of places in the city. Swing by, if you want reservations, PM me, I'll set you up! I've always wanted to watch one of the track day events, do you need anything to come watch?

A major question I've had when I bought the FR-S was, winter. The FR-S is my daily driver, I bought her in the long summer, and winter is coming. I'm wondering how you guys are preparing your cars for winter.

I'm quite interested in this event, can I just show up and watch?

Yep. For both the track day and the autoX, you can just show up and watch.

For winter, no worries at all man. Make sure you have the bridgestone all season tires and not the michelin summer tires. Some cars got one and others got the other type. With all seasons you are golden to go as is into winter. I drove mine last winter and unless it dropped 4 feet of snow and I couldn't move because I was buried this car is really quite impressive in the snow. If you are really worried you can pick up a set of winter tires and that will solve all problems. If you have the michelin summer tires you may want to think about getting some winter tires anyway, my ST has summer tires and I am replacing them for the winter.

On a side note, summer tires are kind of junky in a winter where you plan on getting a decent amount of snow/cold because they don't have the tread cut for the snow plus the rubber compound becomes incredibly hard in the winter getting no grip. The all seasons are ok.... If it were me I would get a set of summer tires and a set of winter tires and you will have the best of both worlds. The all seasons are ok in the summer and let you slide, which is awesome in this car (one of the only things I miss), and in the winter their tread is cut to help with the snow but the rubber compound still becomes hard and not very good.

Oh no! LOL.. I was going to say.. whatever you do.. don't get the STIVO spoiler. I got one early this year and it's been a nightmare. But, I hear they have improved a lot and they actually check the paint and fitment before they ship them out now.. (Novel idea right?) So hopefully you got a good one.

Wheels make the biggest cosmetic upgrade.. but are expensive.

Check out bluebatmobile for his vynil wraps and accents. Nice stuff.. and a very inexpensive way to add something to the appearance of the car and make it unique.

If you go with new headlights.. get something with HID projectors.. I rode in a Scion recently I really notice how much brighter and better the HID's in the BRZ are. That makes a big difference driving at night.

Check out the front lips on the market. They are cheap, easy to install, and make the front end much more aggressive. I did a full kit on my car and I love the results.

Keep an eye on this thread.. we're going to do another picnic or meetup soon. You need to come out and join the group.

Anybody planning on going to cars & Coffee on Saturday? We recently purchased an ST, so we may swing by in both the ST & the FRS.
