I saw a G35 on my drive home today and was reminded of them too. I believe they are just under 3400lbs and are pretty good cars. Good call.

Question, not sure if it was mentioned or not

Why doesn't he want an 86 specifically? I really think it meets all the requirements. If it is simply because it's too expensive used at the moment, tell him to wait a year or two they will be plenty under 20k

E36 M3 is another good option. I know people get excited about the E46 but really consider something from the late 90's. They're durable, fast, and have great "bang for the buck."

We just found an insanely clean 2005 IS300 turbo with 60,000 miles for $15k. 450whp.
