At my folks' home, Coastal town of Swakopmund in Namibia


On the way to Windhoek, ~ 80km (out of 350) east of Swakopmund. Me with the car model pose to make other car models blush, though the duckface needs work. And yes, we do need front license plates.

Also; that's the "basic spec Toyota 86" we get. From what I've seen it's quite similar to the FRS, but with 16" wheels (less grippy, but slightly softer - the Australians get this as well), and cloth interior. Also - a radio from a Hilux.
The High spec gets the nicer lights, the 17" wheels, Alcantara seats, shift lights, push-button start, etc.

All our 86's get the nice exhausts though (not the small american things)

Edit: On Topic - what did I do with it? I modelled with it and FINALLY, 10 months of waiting later, took delivery.

That must have been a long 10 months. What do they cost there?

I plugged your Swakopmund-Windhoek B2-B1 route into Google Earth 3D and "flew" it, sightseeing along the way. Reminds me of the Aussie Outback but paved. I don't think those roads would be easy at night!

Interesting, thanks for the pics and travel report. Namibia sounds like an oasis on a Continent full of (being diplomatic here) trouble spots.

Did my first ever debadging, WAY easier than i thought it was gunna be.

If your on the edge about it, do it. takes 5-10 min.

I didnt even need adhesive remover for the glue, just dry shammy and a spit shine. but it was above 30 today and real sticky out.
