2014 model Toyota 86

So there's supposed to be the 2014 model coming out this September. Can't seem to find much Australian info on it.

Any changes to what's included (thinking back to the full size wheel removal from 2012)? How about price changes?

Apparently the spoiler has been standardised on the GTS model, and a slightly increased price to reflect this is there too.

The 'spec' change in August of this year [production]. The price increase is, from memory, $300-$500 depending on the model. I think the GTS is the most due to the spoiler being included.

This was posted by a member in the Victorian 85/BRZ group, 5 September 2013:

Quote:
Due to tech change, pricing has gone up $500 and there is no price protection for orders already in the system due to the addition of the spoiler on GTS. This affects all vehicles built last month onward. GT Auto is increased $300 manual is unaffected. GTS AERO is unaffected if already ordered but goes up $500 as of tomorrow.

Not exactly a "2014" model, it is just minor updates via a "Tech Change" from August 2013 production.

GT Auto now gets LSD.
GTS grade now standard with rear spoiler. It is the same spoiler as UK Spec models.
"Toyota" badge removed from lower left boot lid on all models.

The price rises mentioned above are correct, except for the GTS Aero packages haven't increased in price, not at least in our systems.

But I'm guessing these will be marked as MY14 builds

Hmmm wonder how much the spoiler is.
Although having a spoiler would make cleaning it more of a pain.

I think 2015 will be the first chance of a 'gutsier' one.

Toyota don't use the "MY__" naming structure. The model isn't actually changing, Toyota just refer to it as a Tech or Spec change. Internally when talking about the models it is either a "Pre or Post Tech Change" model.

Certainly though given the fact the updated model is being sold in the last quarter of this year, that most people wil refer to them as the 2014 model, which can be confusing if they actually do make a larger change next year (which has been alluded to).

I hope alot of the issues get fixed.

Stronger motor too wouldn't hurt.
