I have apex, haven't had it long, but I installed it with my car on the dyno to get a tune so I can't give positive or negative comments. Any dry filter would be fine I think.

K&N. Trusted since forever to produce a good and reliable product. I've had K&N filters on almost every car I've owned.

I called AFE a while ago and one of their top guys told me that they put just as much time if not more into research and development as anyone, including k and n. in addition, one of AFE orginal founders and leader of the company is a k and n defector. I don't have one, but everything I've read and seen all over the Internet leads me to believe that AFE is such a nice fit and finish with some actual engineering behind it. It's the most expensive one but in this case the money is probably well spent. The pro dry s allows less airflow than their wet filter, but it filters better so it's a slight trade off. I would pick up the AFE if I were you.
I'm going with the TRD prob as they use I believe k and n or aem to make their filters. Flow of an oiled filter with reliability of a dry filter because even if the engine somehow goes in the tank from the oil, the fact that its trd should take care if any repair costs. Again, this is hypothetical reasoning |

On our UK owners forum there are dyno reults for most panel filters but the one we have found to give the best result is the HKS hybrid.

I sound negative because you won't feel it on a butt dyno and airflow is always questionable. My PERRIN drop in doesn't even fit well in the intake box. Probably supports other mods but by itself I dont see it doing much at all.

That's not quite true, it's about the only one here that's been dyno tested before and after. My K&N performed as well as any other. I'd say it's hard to determine a real discernible difference between any panel filter.

I went with the K&N because it's among the cheaper ones, it's a trusted brand, and I can't imagine there'd be much performance difference between the different filters.

Isn't K&N oiled only? The OP wants dry? I'm no expert on this stuff, so wouldn't K&N be out of the equation?

AFE dry here, nice looking filter and looks like it's built to last a while. That's the benefit - you can just keep reusing them. Blow it off to clean and re-install. Any negligible HP gain is gravy.
