August 7th, Saturday. I woke up early in the morning. I did some studying then played Natural Selection 2, fps/rts online alien vs marine. Afterwards, I took a shower and gotten ready for a drive. I took the 86 to fill up the gas, then drove towards our destination. Peets coffee somewhere near Castro Valley. I know I was coming late to the meet. Bad time management on my part.12 minutes late to the meet the group was still there. The weather was gorgeous out. Sunny with blue all over and few clouds in the distances. Although I met a new face, I never did get her name. One guy came all the way from Sacramento, 118 miles close to 2 hours’ drive. Months ago, I met him at a Sacramento meet one night where I spontaneously drove there and came home 0200-ish. New owner of 86 model year 2014. I didn't know until the end of the meet where the car's wheels weren't lined up for the picture and it became the brief topic for the group and turns out to be 2014. Essentially same machine just few cosmetically added on top of it. Headlights, blue glowing emblems and knobs and whatever other features were added upon it. Many familiar faces were on board at this meet. Around 15 86s? I volunteered to take the rear. Plato led the group and did his direction and safety speech which is great. He provided me information where the turns were. I got most of it and missed few things. That's okay! We exist out as a group and came to a stop sign. One by one making the left turn onto redwood rd. Although we created traffic a bit, one of the 86s bravely stopped traffic to let others and myself to exit onto the road safely. Appreciate that! On we go, driving through the streets with few traffic lights or none completely passing many houses along the way. Eventually driving out to wherever this road takes us to. The curves of the roads were easy to ease into the turns and it was quiet little to no cars and few bicyclist. The places this road took us too had a beautiful view to enjoy on either sides. The feel of your body curving with the turns going left and right. The accurate precision of the steering wheel make easy turns. Whatever the speed limit of the road was added 10 to 20 on top of it. Every bicyclist we saw we used our emergency signal to warn each other what's up ahead. I haven't driven any other car other than mine and I always put a smile on my face when I drive this machine. I love the my engine roaring when I push it hard out of turns and when I suddenly slow down I hear the engine let off plush of air. One of the roads we drove passed had tall skinny palm trees on either sides that went along the sides of the road. I really liked what it looked like as we were driving through. It was cool! The group missed the turn on Skyline Blvd. I want to say it was Ed, the white 86 with red stripes on them. Radioed me asking about Skyline Blvd supposed to make a left turn. I answered "I don't exactly know I forget." along those lines. I agreed and we drove down to pick the group up. He went ahead of the group I held the rear. This road was taking us down a steep hill after 6 blocks or more. Ed caught up to the group and lead for a U-turn. We drove back up the hill fighting against gravity. We made a right turn onto some random road and did another U-turn then right turn continue onto Skyline Blvd. Finally, we're on the right track driving. We're on top of a hill with big houses and tall pine trees on either side and in the middle of the road was filled with more tall pine trees. I was telling Ed this place looks awesome to drive and live here. At some point on the road you are able to overlook the cities down below now a view I would love to stare for a while. This road was filled with curves, no blind turns and a lot of bicyclists of late. I think we pissed off one bicyclist lady as we were speeding through carefully. I did a complete stop behind her as she wobbles on her bicycle and slowly wobbles more towards the middle of the road. She caught herself and moved to the right I followed slowly behind her. She was yelling something "Go! Go!” As I drove passed her she yelled out "A-hole" Driving down, over, and around the hills to get to Shell gas station. Finally we reached at a stopping point. We made it out as a group. Some filled up their gas. 10 minutes later or so, we began to get back onto the road towards bay span bridge. I saw a blue 86 on the other side of traffic. I was thinking to myself a new 86 coincidentally being there. It turns out it was her whose name I haven't gotten. The group just out ran traffic I did try to keep up going 80ish to 90ish then I was naaah I'll slow down to 80 and stayed 80. I look behind for a while wondering about the blue 86 I saw however maybe it was just randomly there. We reached toll and cash only is going faster than fast-track lane. Yay! $5 for the weekend. I was curious about the bay span bridge, since I've been hearing it on the news lately. It is still being built. When you reached the near the end of the bridge. You see the tall white vertical structure and rails connected the side of the bridge to the top of the vertical structure forming a pyramid like shape. We turned into Treasure Island on the left. Oh boy, a lot of cops roaming about. A tourist site it was hard finding a park spot near the beginning but it gets a lot easier near the end. Here you can see San Francisco city at a closer look. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge. We saw a large white cruise ship in the distance. There was another car group at the parking lot displaying their cars. Looks like muscle cars? Chilled there for a while. Talking and taking pictures. I was taking pictures of San Francisco and the beautiful scenes surrounding us. We drove to the other side of Treasure Island. Getting there is interesting the place felt like an apocalypse just happened here a lot of abandon buildings, broken windows, and empty parking lots. Then you see some places filled with people playing baseball there maybe forgetting what happened here? Just kidding I was thinking Fall Out. The other side is quiet and peaceful. I like it. Beautiful view of the bay a spot definitely worth just chilling out. I had a great time driving to and seeing the wonderful places as we drive. Of course meeting new people. As I left I notice a lot of people on the side watching the bay I was curious what was going on. I tried looking out there to see what the people see. All I saw was a lot of boats a lot of boats swimming around. I was very curious, so I looked it up. Possibly it was an event about the world’s fastest boat race and Team Oracle was going against New Zealand. I did spot out Oracle banner somewhere on Treasure Island. I was hungry and heading home to eat.

I was thinking that but figuring it'll be featured on 86drive.com soon enough, I figure I surprise some folks (as I was surprised of what the undercarriage had).

Don't mean to correct you but the "...skylight..." is actually Skyline Blvd. Fun road with subtle sweepers. But before you know it, you're on Golf Links Road and in residential community.
