Hope to see everyone in the morning! Have a safe drive to Medina and on the 3SIST3RS run. Don't forget to have plenty of petrol in the tank once we leave Leakey as there will be no filling station opportunities after we depart for the run from there. Plan A is to do a clockwise run this time so, after we leave the Stripes convenience store in Leakey we'll head for Camp Wood. As in the past, we'll do lunch at the Bent Rim Grill. More than likely we'll pull over briefly at a couple of scenic spots along the route for some pics. Faster drivers will take the lead, first timers can head up the rear if they so choose. We'll figure out in the morning if we will split up into groups depending on turnout. Austin folks...we won't leave without you guys so don't speed if you get delayed. If we encounter some slow traffic in front of us on the twisties we can pull over to create a gap as long as there is a safe spot to do so otherwise the lead car will slow down. If we slow down on the route that may be the reason why...to create a gap so we can nail the twists. Again, drive safe. Have fun!
P.S. - First-timers....AT&T was the only cell phone carrier that worked in Leakey...With Verizon, I had no service past Bandera. FYI. YMMV. Just be prepared to be incommunicado whilst doing the sisters run. ![]() Meet up at: The Apple Store, Medina, TX 9AM On to Leakey by 9:20 or so. Pit stop in Leakey at the Stripes. Last chance for gas. Clockwise Run. 337 to Camp Wood > 55 > 335 > 41 > 336 to Leakey. Lunch Following at the Bent Rim Grill on 337 in Leakey. http://goo.gl/maps/9E9Rz

See you in the morning. Still planning to meet Austin drivers who wish to caravan to Medina at the Oak Hill Y around 0645 -- leaving at 7.

I had a great time today and it was nice to meet everybody! Definitely going to be going back there again at some point, preferably soon! I just got home and the first thing I did was buy the clear side markers, except I got the smoked ones as I plan to eventually do smoked tails and blacked out heads.

Hey all -it was great to meet everyone yesterday. I really enjoyed it and I wish I could remember all your names and connect them to the forum here. I will try to get my pics up later today.
But I must say that was the most intense fun driving experience I have ever had. I was so jazzed after that! Can't wait to do it again. |

Just checked out TXMOTOFOTO - he already got our images posted from 337. Lots of really nice shots. I like the outbound shots from Leakey the best - http://www.jwimaging.exposuremanager...13_703_27_29_3' It looks like those lame Porsches never made 337 yesterday. I knew they couldn't hang with the cool kids. Guess they were riding escort for the Grandparents of Anarchy.
( main site is http://www.txmotofoto.com/ ) Has anyone ever ordered from here? How is the quality? Think I am going to have to order. Very cool. |

FRS radios worked out great, too. Thanks for taking the lead @TEWwild. We were in good hands with you guys in front letting us know what was up ahead. Everyone had a blast! ![]() (Definitely will have to do this again when weather gets cooler so we can run without the A/Cs on.) ![]() ![]() Private Slideshow Link: http://www.photodex.com/share/texzun/4d46pmg4 Password: ft86 (Best viewed on a PC with sound on. Awesome slideshow John!!
Just so you know, my computer flagged the plug-in that tried to install when I followed the link as infected and would not let me install it. I remedied the situation by going to their website to install their "Presenter Plug-In" for web browsers. It was well worth the effort, again, AWESOME slideshow!! The page I got the plug-in from: http://www.photodex.com/proshow/plugins |
