I'm still hoping that the 2012 year car means that it will be released sometime mid 2011 xD

2012 is not too long of a wait. I don't understand how people can complain it's too long. I've been waiting for a nice, new RWD Toyota ever since Toyota killed off the MR2 (MKII, not the MKIII) and the Supra.
I've been hoping Toyota would release another sporty, exotic looking RWD for a decade +. Two years is nothing compared to that. Now, if they only offer a a turbo option on the FT-86...I'll be in heaven |

Whereas this wait, we have the concept car, we know (tentatively) what it will look like, a general idea on specs and how they are trying to make it (referring to small light weight, low cost, low CoG, rear wheel drive), but they not going to release it for a couple years. So its like they dangling candy in front of us, we can see it, smell it, touch it but can't taste it. That's how I see it and why everyone keeps saying they can't wait. |

Yeah... that's gonna be awhile. A lot of ppl thought it's gonna be like GT-R, but I don't think Toyota gonna bring back the Supra for LONG TIME... It's kinda hard to beat the last gen Supra. Their looks & performance is hard to beat. Even current sports car still get beaten by Supra and the races.

Word. A new supra MKIV would cost ~$70k in Today's money. I think we'd see a volta, mr2 hybrid or ft-hs long before we see a supra (though it could be argues that the LFA is today's "supra") |

Well eckoman_pdx said not MKIII, so I didn't count the MR-S. Agree that MR-S is fairly small, light weight, NA, fun to drive (depends on the season) car. Not sure bout underpowered part cuz I've never driven stock MR-S.

would you guys keep waiting if in 2012 or 2011 right before the ft-86 release...toyota decides to release a supra concept and says it will go into production in a few (2-4) years? Like would you guys go ahead and buy the ft-86 or would you wait for the next supra? lol
i would probably end up waiting for that supra... haha |
