Thank you! ^ oh and the wing hasn't affected the trunk still pops open holds itself up and etc. And only thing I see helping the trunk hold up is the weight pushing straight down on 8bolts and 2 lips over the trunk. Instead of it pulling on 20ga metal its more like pushing through an inch of steel. Thankfully I work with metals daily otherwise I'd be scared to death of this thing ripping off. But roads here are the roughest I've been on and after 1k miles absolutely no loosened bolts or distortion.

Gotta love the haters!
Always loved huge wings on this car. At least you did something unique AND you like it on your car, who paid all the money for the car and the wing? you. Haters gonna hate bro. Your car kinda reminds me of this: |

I'll reserve my opinions about aesthetics, but those who are showing other cars that have large rear spoilers also have virtually double and, in some cases, triple the power as well as full FUNCTIONAL aero. Top speed was reduced so it must be generating downforce right? Terrible logic. Put your hand out the window on the interstate. Is that downforce? This is just a gigantic air brake that is permanently reducing your fuel efficiency as well as reducing the already pathetic acceleration of this car. Real world trial and error takes considerable time and effort if you want it done right, which is why engineering companies use simulation tools and CAD design to cut down on labor. Tossing somebody a $20 and sharing your measurements with someone who has said program can get you a definitive answer on how functional your wing is.
That being said, I respect the "haters gonna hate" attitude and ingenuity to tackle it yourself. I wouldn't be able to work metal like that. I'm very big on doing whatever it is that suites me, so I can't hate on you for doing what you want. Also, I know you have plans for full aero kit, but I would be seriously afraid of having that on my car at highway speeds. In stock form our cars already have significant front lift and I have even drifted out of lanes because of it even with how low my car is. Without a front splitter I would think that anything over 60mph has got to be sketchy at best.

Never addressed you either sorry. The first pic if you look it was all curved slightly up from welding. And by me breaking it 4degrees down on both ends it increases stiffness and strength and follows the roof contour closely. Sorry didn't relize those were ricer qualities next time ill be sure to make everything a straight line, hell ill just make my car a cube so its no longer ricer.

I feel I need to chime in on this. First off, my opinion is I hate it, it looks terrible. Again that's just MY OPINION, it shouldn't matter to you whatsoever. I applaud you for doing something different and BUILDING your car, that takes a lot of guts. In the long run it creates a bond between you and your car, and isn't that all that really matters?

The amount of hate on this thread makes me sad.
Props to the craftsmanship required to make this! I can't wait to see this with the widebody/wheels done. You're going to end up with something truly unique |
