I installed it myself and didn't really have any issues. It was a bit of a pain holding everything in place while messing with the bolts or v band clamps but it is definitely doable...

just installed my catback but noticing it's leaking at the connection between the midpipe and the S-pipe. the V band clamp is there but there's a bit of play, trouble is i can't tighten it anymore :/ should there be absolutely ZERO play when connected correctly?

also, how tight should the V band clamp be tightened? in the original post, we see there's still some space between the looped ends of the clamp, whereas in an install video, it's touching.

The clamp should only be tightened down to 70in lbs. The V band squeezes the pipes together so they shouldn't be leaking exhaust, they might leak a little water when the exhaust is cold though. The pipes shouldn't be able to move independently when they're clamped down.

When the V band is clamped down all the way, both the ends will be touching.

The pic of mine you just posted there is from before I tightened the clamp down. Both ends of my clamp are touching each other now that my exhaust is fully installed.

Just installed my resonated earlier. Actually, the muffler shop did. I'm very pleased with it. It's almost too quiet but my UEL header, over-pipe, and front-pipe will take care of that. Then I can bitch about it being too loud

Tigthened everything up further. Drove it tonight and it's awesome. Love the startup and man, i'm gonna stop being lazy and start downshifting coming to a stop now haha.

Question though, how long until the new exhaust smell goes away?

Installed my Perrin non-resonated catback this week and it is perfect! Perfect volume level and sound - a nice deep rumble. Sounds really nice and aggressive without being obnoxious or attracting attention.

I keep thinking that this is how the car should be stock.... Or that the designers of the stock exhaust knew a lot of buyers would replace it and decided to give it crappy tips and virtually no exhaust note.

Just ordered their 3" catback yesterday, should be here next week. I can't wait to hear how it sounds with the turbo.

The crappy tips law? Which one is that if I may ask?

It wouldn't look so bad if the holes in the back of the car weren't too big for the stock exhaust tips. But I guess these holes were designed for the real exhaust that we didn't get here.

You cant have the tips extend further then the bumper in the states and so on from the factory. Thus the change in tips. Did they pick the right ones no. but the gt86 has the better tips. they are also 86mm wheres ours is not.
