Catch can/oil separators on FI engines? (Vortech in particular)

I've been trawling through the forum for a while now and still can't really find good info on what the best oil separator setup is for FI engines, Vortech SC in particular.

I have my SC ready to fit but have come to the conclusion that it would be a good idea to fit some form of catch can.
Just wondering what everyone else is using and what is exactly put there?
Are Cusco still the only people making 86/Brz specific cans?
I'm looking for something that looks as oem as possible. No bling, see-through hoses or cable ties all over the place.

Much appreciated!

Stay away from the Cusco then. Definitely bling, and definitely does not look oem

This may help.
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21079

I have been a huge supporter of Radium Eng. I have had a can that has moved from my old Lotus Exige, to my Hyundai with DI, to the FR-S and now a dual can setup for supercharging.

Radium started by supporting Lotus cars and was designed and tested for track use and forced induction. Since I have tested it now for several years, I don't have any vacuum issues PCV leaks. It just works.

Here are more reasons to consider them:

  • Private owners in Oregon, designed and made in US.
  • Track and race tested.
  • Only can with dipsticks
  • Flow Tested
  • No vacuum leaks
  • Standard barb sizes -AN fittings for multi-use.
  • Baffled and proven to separate oil.
  • Non AOS style no unspent fuel and blowby oil back into block.

To add to that list they look great haha.

Can you get these cans in a kit? with the brackets and hoses etc.

I talked to them about making a specific kit, not sure if that happened yet.
But it comes with the dual can mount, you pick the barbs you need. At the worst you would have to buy the hose you need and mount it.

Its not a huge deal but understand you may want plug and play.
If you want the owners email PM me I will pass it along.

Running the AVO breather with our AVO turbo kit. Super easy to install and they upgrade the PVC to handle the FI. Not one problem with the kit and after a track test there was zero oil in the intake.
