Two weeks ago, on my birthday, I purchased a Firestorm FRS that was sitting on a nearby dealership's lot. It was giving me that sad, puppy-dog look. I had to give it a home.
Notice I didn't say good home: It's my first manual with all the baggage that entails. I keep hoping I show up in the Mid-Atlantic spotting thread, but no luck thus far. |

However, when you are down shifting ..... it's not going to save you. So, be sure not to mis-shift (like coming down from 6th and hitting 3rd instead of 5th). This was back in the late 70's and it was a Corolla. One tip I can give you guys with manual transmissions: Brakes are cheaper than Clutches. Forget the downshifting unless there's some serious reason for doing so. Use the brakes - save the clutch! |

Hey everyone, new here. My names Dan I live in Mountain Home ID, about 45min from Boise. Just picked up my Ultramarine FRS 6m/t base with display audio from Boise. Had an 02 Subaru Legacy B4m/t twin turbo for the last 2 years in Japan, and saw the the Brz in person before it was released in the states and knew I wanted one. So far put on 800mi on mine trying to get to 1000 before I can actually get on it. First impressions are great! Took it up through the mountains last week and was amazed at the handling and couldnt get it to understeer at all. Feels very well planted, brakes are great, and for only 200hp its very nimble and responsive. Overall so far very pleased, and the forum seems great, ready through quite a few of the threads and seem like a good group of guys.
