I would like to know if its justifiable to go with the uel for the sound or if it's not worth the difference.

IMO, its not that big of a concern. Runner length for turbo applications is key. You want the shortest runners possible, so the exhaust gasses don't loose heat and velocity. I would imagine a UEL would be more suited to a turbo manifold (in this application), as there is no concern to keep the runners the same length, and as a result it would be possible to end up with shorter runners overall. Actually, I guess it depends on where the turbo will be mounted. But I digress.

On a turbo application, header design is less crucial then NA. The power difference is likely to be negligible. I'm sure a tuned EL manifold would probably make more power. But how much more? Certainly not night and day. Just look at the NA options. The UL/UEL headers all make ~around the same power.

But if you want to go EL, then go EL. I'm pretty sure everyone on this board who chooses a UEL is doing it for the rumble. Which IMO, is far more important then a marginal HP gain. (if you like the rumble that is).

I have pulled the head off a WRX and STI motor with the motor still in the car which takes removing the camshafts, so I am confident we could swap out your cams. We will probably have to remove some of the turbo kit though to get it done.

Just snatch the engine to do the cams. Would make life much easier. My personall opinion, as pulling this engine should not take long at all.

Need some advice. My stock engine just randomly started getting rod knock. Took it to the dealer and they took it apart to find metal shavings all over the oil pan and cylinder 4 is demolished. Since I am stock it is being covered under warranty. Yeah I should probably hold off on installing the turbo but I see this as an opportunity to get some free labor installing a clutch and engine mounts. I need to know if you guys think this clutch will support my end goal of 300whp. Based on its torque capacity and the results listed in the OP, it looks like it will be able to handle my goal. Here is the link to the clutch ACT SB7-HDSS

This is the only clutch that is in stock at a local shop, I need to pick this up today if I want to get it installed while its all apart. Thanks guys!
