Has anyone removed the 10 Series Light up Emblems yet?
Hey guys. Just got a 10 series and I must say that I am not a fan of the light up emblems. Just not my style. I would like to replace them with OEM Toyota emblems but I am concerned that there will be a hole for the wiring that lights the Scion emblem up. Has anyone done this? Thank you in advance for any help.

I havn't seen one removed yet, but it shouldn't be that complicated. It will have the standard holes for the emblem pins including one more for the led. A replacement emblem will cover the hole for the led wire, so there should be no issues

I'm pretty sure there is a way you can turn them off listed in the user's manual. Probably a fuse you could pull or something.
I imagine Toyota probably assumed some people wouldn't like it Nick C.

There is a switch below the steering column that you can turn them on/off, there should have been an addendum sheet in your owners manual showing that switch.
Has anyone took off the and put the Toyota Emblem on somehow and got a Toyota emblem to light instead??? I like the light but want a Toyota Emblem.... |

I thought the switch only turned off the EL dash? I'll have to check it again tomorrow.
I know the relay for them is above the pedals, to the left; pull out one of the wires from it and they cease to function (found out by accident - don't ask how lol) |

You are correct. The switch under steering column is only for illuminated dash. But as you said there is a relay that can be removed to stop the emblems.

I'm interested in what other LED badges are out there that can be swapped on, so I'll piggyback on this thread. Also what kind of places would fabricate custom badges? Or even would the wiring for this likely be the same as the Scion one?

I'll repost this info here.
There's a switch under the steering column to cut off the dash panel and the easiest way to turn off the emblems is to just unplug the harness to them. Understand before you screw these emblems up which wasn't posted in that other thread they cost almost $400.00 each to replace. I didn't think I was going to like them but they do grow on you over time so my advice is to wait a few weeks before removing or cutting them off. Now as for another compay making one to work like the 10 Series emblem I don't think it will happen anytime soon. The emblems are wired into the cars harness to work with the key fob and there's two sets of LED's that lights them up.

Amp'd emblems were making light up emblems like these in lots of colors, and make a scion emblem. They were like $170 for each one. Unfortunately about a month ago they stopped taking orders, but they hope to reopen. Look at their website.
