I have the quad variant of this catback. I have a mild rattle on cold-start that dissipates after 3-5 seconds even after utilizing elongated hangers and verifying there is clearance everywhere. It's subtle and not terribly notable unless you're listening for it specifically.
I thoroughly enjoy the duality of sound from this catback (deep bass rumble at lower RPM and higher-pitched roar up top), but exhaust notes are like aesthetic modifications and I'm sure it isn't for everyone. The quad is VASTLY louder than the J2 dual setup on a friend's FR-S. No before/after dyno videos unfortunately, but judging by benchmark runs, it certainly didn't lose anything. Buttdyno says it picked up marginally, and the revs certainly feel smoother. My $0.02 review: You get what you pay for. For a third the price of most catback systems, I'm thoroughly impressed. The metal is very thin, and it is definitely 409 not 304 SS---you will get corrosion that can be removed with a scotchbrite pad but nothing horrific. Dip/coat the system before installation if you're concerned. The fitment isn't completely perfect but I had zero installation issues with good clearance everywhere (though it does sit on the shield by the rear bumper if you don't use longer hangers). |

alrrigt so i bought this exhaust around a month or more ago...sounds great, and didnt have a problem installing it.... over the month i noticed only the far right exhaust tip was getting darker. (and now its super dark)
sure enough all other 3 tips are super clean, i wipe my finger on them and there suuuuuper clean...seems like its only escaping out the far right tip. anybody else have this problem? |

I did notice in this video [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lrn8BnpsyJo"]100 0051 - YouTube[/ame]
that the visible gasses coming out of the car were primarily via the far right exhaust tip. |

Mine only darken the outside tips as well, but BOTH outside tips for mine. Exhaust gas will always find the easiest exit route. It's not bad for the motor, it's just not optimal routing.

Can you have a friend rev the engine while you feel for exhaust flow with your hand? I would suspect that having exhaust gas exit out of only one of the 4 outlets would be restrictive. Looking at the design, I don't know how its possible to only have flow through the one outlet/tip unless something is stopped up along the way.
Anyway, I love the sound from the clips i've seen. |

it does favor the right side under low rpms, but when you give it some gas it flows more evenly.

replaced just the muffler hangers. the stock ones were just too short, no way around it. maybe some of their mufflers have the hangers extended a bit.
