i feel the same way now... could've save a bunch of money buying a 13 base FRS and haggle down the price and just put the money for the headlights... its a damn shame...

I guess I'm in the "haves" group of owners but wait a minute I have a whiteout FR-S also without the 10 Series special features.

I wanted the features so I purchased the 10 Series FR-S to be in the "haves" owners list.

So your not in the "haves" list of owners and got a dealer to sell you these parts I'm happy for you and hope you like being a fake 10 Series owner.

That had me LMAO..!!

Now let see these headlights should be called the "USDM/DLR headlights" and not JDM ones as there's no car in Japan with them as the japanese car's are wired to work different.

People are making a fuzz over headlight... I only bought the 10 series because it came with HID's and the Dual Climate...

I don't give 2 shits if base owners want to do it, I didn't have to go through the hassle of ordering, installing and rewirering new headlights, and having to live with the ugly base A/C.

That's just the thing. We don't have to live the ugly base A/C either if we don't want to. If you take the numbered plaque out of it this little excercise proves is that there's not a single part I can't get my hands on assuming I'm willing to go thru the hassle (and it is a hassle) of ordering, installing and rewire-ring.

It's like engine swaps. You can put whatever in where ever if as long as you have the information and tallent to figure it out. It's a free country!..

The point I was trying to make above is that this discussion has consistently devolved into an irrational, emotional discourse. I even quoted myself to illustrate when I was posting in an irrational manner so please forgive me, I meant no offence.

My only point is this.

Nothing inherently "belongs" to 10 Series owners other than the cars in their garages. Even down to the paint I can demonstrate the ability to purchase and apply any of these so-called exclusive features. I bought these parts because I wanted them and I've posted in this thread so that others who might want to do the same could see that it can be done.

@Art_Mighty, the 10 Series premium was slightly over $2K for the HID's, LED's, Smart Key, '14 HU, dual-zone auto a/c, paint, belts and badging, all exclusive and factory installed, about what you paid for your HID's before labor charges. Not a bad deal at all although as BRZ owners point out lacks a few great Limited goodies like Alcantara seats and heated mirrors.

The only reminder about human nature I've read here is that some unethical dealers will do anything to make a buck.

I sure hope 10 series owners don't buy my exclusive non 10 series headlights. These headlights are sold exclusively on non 10 series FRS, not even BRZ's have them.
