Canadian BRZ Sport Tech Auxiliary Input?

Hey guys the last few days this has been driving me crazy and it's kinda embarrassing, but I haven't been able to figure out how to use the auxiliary input for the Pioneer system Any help would be appreciated thanks!

The Pioneer system sucks. I have it and hate it.

I sort of hate it too.
Bluetooth works well, but I get no sound out of my iphone when playing podcasts (I have no mp3s on my phone). If my phone is plugged into the usb and I try and use Bluetooth for music it automatically pauses whats playing and if I hit play it just repauses it.
No luck getting aha radio to work with sound...
I need a crash course in getting all this working.

I also hate the navigation system,
and alas another question when I first plugged my phone into the USB my phone was like appstore would like to download nav app. and I hit ignore because I was in a rush, and now I have no idea what app it was looking to DL and I would love to find that out to see if I can preprogram destinations on my phone before I get in the car and then have the nav system take over from there.

I will likely post my own thread about these problems if I can get anywhere with them soon or from help here.

I also have the Sporttech (Canada)

I believe the AUX input would be in the glove box. Confused the heck out of me the first couple of days. USB is there as well.

I too hate the pioneer. It's so slow and unresponsive. I swear one day it will cause a crash.

I am currently looking for an android based replacement so I can run Torque as well though.

That was one of the first mods I did to my BRZ, pulled the stock Pioneer head unit and installed a proper functional replacement

What head unit did you end up getting? I am on my phone and can't quite find it in your previous posts.

I just got my BRZ last week and this is the one thing I still can't get to work. Does the AUX innput only work with iPods??? I'm trying to connect it to my android phone (just the 3.5mm, not usb)...

Got it to work thanks to Cryotechnician! In case there are other like me, here's how to do it:

Quote:
You need to go into the AV settings, set AV1 to video, plug your aux in and on your listings for different things to play music from there should be a new one that says AV1. It will look like 2 rings (a red and a grey one).

So how do I get the video warning to shut off?

Hi Thanks everyone, this was a great link and I was able to play my music. The only challenge is now a warning comes up about playing video when I'm driving. Anyone know how to deactivate that. I too have a BRZ in Canada.

Sounds like you need to get one of the USDM nav units, or get an aftermarket Pioneer AHS/AVIC unit.

Because I have no use for NAV, it was replaced with a AVH-P8400BH, and then the 8500 model
