Me? Yes, my tranny is being replaced under warranty. Currently waiting on the new tranny to arrive at the dealership, should have my car back by Tuesday at the earliest.

I got out of work early today at 3pm so I drove Pinehurst and Redwood and back to test out my new GrimmSpeed strut tower bar. Despite the before 5:00 start time, there was still a lot of activity on the roads. Some cyclists, fair amount of other cars, some motorcyles. Even saw a SUV cop sitting on the side of the road shortly after getting onto Redwood.
Saw some sketchy things too including a red Ducati coming around a blind corner straddling the center lane line. Also, a old Celica GT-S limping along that had obviously seen better days based on the burned oil smell coming from it. Driver refused to move over in a run out to let me pass. ![]() On the way back up I came upon a pickup truck who didn't want to utilize a run out to let me by either. He actually honked at one point and waved his arm out the window, I guess to indicate that I should cross over the middle lane line and go in the other lane to get around him? Pretty sure that's not the proper thing to do. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Lastly, came around a blind corner saw a huge deer 6 feet from my door! Fortunately it was in the slow/technical section near the end/start of Pinehurst and the deer was just starting to cross the road. I immediately stopped as another car was coming in the opposite lane which spooked it and it turned back around and ran away. That could have turned out much worse! Edit: Forgot to mention, there was also a Jeep towing an oldschool VW Bug on Redwood.... WTF??

You were right to stay behind the truck despite them waving you around. If I'm not mistaken there is no passing zone (broken yellow line) anywhere on Redwood. Double yellow lines mean do not cross. Sure we momentarily may cross that to pass a cyclist really quick (to give them some space) but obviously only when they move over to the side and you can get around them easily with good visibility. A car or truck is a different matter, aside from a few longer straights there is really no safe place to pass them unless they pull off to the side. Better to stay behind and cruise, turn up the tunes and just relax instead of doing something overly risky. I guess it's a simple fact of American driving culture, there will always be those who refuse to yield.

OK, does anyone here on lowering springs have more noise coming from the rear? It seems like my entire rear end just loves to make randoms clunks all the time now.

I'm not sure where it's coming from but I kept hearing occasional high pitched squeaking from my car during today's drive. I was gonna say it sounds almost like chirping but that is so commonly used to describe a totally separate problem with our cars haha. I do notice one of my exhaust tips rattles a bit when it's just sitting parked idling so I am gonna try and tighten that up and see if that helps. Hope it's not tied to the springs but if not that's the next culprit.
