Necessary to toggle between 2-3rd gear at autox?

Have any of you stock FR-S/BRZ drivers needed to shift to third and back to second and possibly back to third during an autox? I'm specifically talking about a stock six-speed manual car. It sure seems to me like third gear will be required just from driving the car aggressively on the street for the 1700 miles I have owned this car. All of my autox experience has been with an 08 Mustang GT manual trans. One shift to second was the only shift that was required with that car.

If you go above 60MPH at autox then ya, you will probably need 3rd gear.

STIs have the same issue

Depends on the course. Usually, no. Most courses are intended to be designed with a top speed of +/- 60 mph. But sometimes you'll need to decide between bumping off the rev limiter and shifting.
