My 17x9 grids are about 21lbs. My 17x9 RPF1s are 16lbs for comparison.

Do u see or feel a big difference in the weight when racing? I've been debating on these 2 wheels for the longest time & that's the thing I'm wondering

Lighter is better, I didn't really notice a difference turning but I would say stopping there is.

BUT unless you're a really good driver becoming a better driver will make a much larger difference.

At this point my Grids are DD only wheels. Also running them with 5MM spacers now because it looks better and I installed extended studs. If I had larger than 245 tires (like 255 I have on my RPF1s) it would be too much neg offset to be as low as I am without wrong camber.

Rota Grids, 17x9,42, 6 spoke, matte black

I got some Rota Grids, 6 spoke from wheeldude and am quite happy with the results. 17x9,42, 19.5#/ea, 245/40 Conti DW tires.

This is technically my wife's BRZ, so her input was important. Today she spent some time with the car, pushing it on dry roads and all she noticed was the greatly increased grip and lack of tire squeal she usually got with stock rubber. Acceleration seems virtually the same as stock, both my opinion and hers. This is nothing scientific - just seat of the pants feel. I was mostly concerned about dramatically changing the car's feel or behavior and fortunately it didn't change much at all. We're currently stock on suspension, but MAY go with RaceComp Yellows at some point. We like the tire clearance for dirt road driving, which we do a bit of (see photos). Here are a bunch of initial shots of the car, dirty, rainy, iPhone shots.

Here's what a lifted BRZ would look like - it'd be fun with some serious rally driving!
