Norcal Annual MR2 Meet - Half Moon Bay, Saturday August 24, 2013

Hey guys, as some of you know I also own a Mk3 MR2 Spyder and am involved with the MR2 community. And many of you came out on 8/6 for the joint 86/MR2 meet recently. The MR2 guys are having their annual meet on Sat Aug 24 in Half Moon Bay, and they gave me the go-ahead to invite you guys to register and join in this meet! I will be bringing my Spyder to this meet but it would be great to see some of you guys bring out your cars and enjoy this meet too.

Registration in advance is $10 and that gets you a parking spot, admission to the car show, raffle tickets and some coupons as well. I am trying to find out what categories if any there will be in the show for the non-MR2s.

Ignore the part about what kind of MR2 you have, and just fill out the info reflecting what car you will be bringing. I think they will have a preference for Toyotas, but everyone is welcome.

Quote:
What if I don’t have an MR2? This is a meet for the MR2 enthusiasts. We won’t hold it against you if you picked the wrong car to own and bought something besides an MR2, so by all means bring it out. However priority parking will be given to MR2′s with other vehicles adjacent to them to leave us the best possible photo opportunities.
For more info and to register, please visit the MR2 meet site: http://www.mr2meet.info/

as usual for any car meets that I associate myself with: Please be respectful, no burnouts, racing, engine revving, or anything that is going to make the entire group look like a bunch of jerks.

Awww too bad Blaine because one of the raffle prizes I hear... are gift cards good for UFO autocross entrance fees! And another prize is GoKartRacer gift cards. So yeah there's something any of us could use, not just random MR2 parts LOL.

btw I realize this is on the same date/time as the Scion meet in Lodi... but well, this one is closer for most of us.

Well, Lodi is closer to me otherwise I would go. Plus I don't need to see more reasons to make me want to buy a sw20. Lol

LOL I used to own a SW20 and I still wanted to own one again... right up until I bought my BRZ. Sure it's a sweet car but the BRZ kind of hits all the same spots in my mind except the factory turbo bit.

Anyhoo just for kicks let me throw up some old scanned photos I found recently ... back when I first got my MR2 Spyder I met up with a few other guys who owned the AW11 and SW20 and we took a few photos and then drove each others cars for a little bit so we could all compare and contrast all 3 gens of MR2s.

Lol hit the snooze button too much this morning.
It was a great meet and great weather out at the coast today! I think nearly everyone went home with a raffle prize of some sort.
I'll put up a few photos from today later.

Love the pic of the cars -- but that chick looks like a dude[I so couldn't help myself from saying that]!!! Saddly the 2nd pic makes me lose respect for that individual in that posture.

other than that, the cars in the pics following look bad ass!!!! =) I love the MR2 platform, but me being 6'4" makes this car not viable for a driving solution.

@PMok maybe but those pics just turned it off for me -- Great pics of the car though!! nice Shots!!!!
I'm glad that she's a nice person when you meet her, but pictures speak 1000 words before the person is met.

Maybe it's the angle of the image taken (shrugs). I definitely have the wrong impression of her. Anyway Good car pics regardless =D love that platform, pure sex!
