You'd think taht, but the S pack available in Australia is ~$3k more expensive than the cost of parts. I was concerned about warranty, and was looking at getting the dealership to install STI springs for me... but really... $400 for springs, or $1000 for springs and some warranty? And it would only affect the warranty on the springs/dampers. Wouldn't affect the warranty of any engine problems.

aside from STi parts.. you are looking for the extra bits which is (still, for now) exclusive to this tS edition, such as rear lateral link, dampers, struts, sidefin, recaro seats, brembo front and rear..

and please remember that every good parts you buy will need optimization, especially a one for all-all for one optimization, and i think the best place to do these is the factory produced one like this you can bet that it shall perform to its fullest

and yes.. factory warranty.. just buy, fill the gas, and drive it

this BRZ tS will go faster around a track... as for more fun to drive.. only time will tell..

Those side vents are pretty bad ass, I would not mind getting those, I am sure it will cost my first born however.

I sort of disagree. You're right: the car is totally driveable and fun as it is, and doesn't need more power. Still, it could easily handle more power and more power (particularly more torque) would make the car more fun to drive IMHO.

I don't think the BRZ needs a lot more power, but imagine how fun this car would be if it had a Cayman engine in it instead of an FA20. I love the way my car drives, but the engine is definitely the weakest link. It's not bad, but it's not great either. It's a decent engine given the price of the car, but the car's handling is so far out of proportion compared to the price that the engine looks mediocre in comparison.

WRT this tS thing, I can't get too excited about it. I guess it would be a cool thing to have available for people who want better handling but don't want to mod. The car has a serious case of badge fever going on, though. They should save those STI logos and wings and shit for a proper go-fast version of the car. Until they release a real STI version of the BRZ, the only badge I'd like to see on the back of a BRZ is an ///M badge :P

In terms of the new parts specific to the tS, I think like everyone else, the side fender garnish for sure. Would be interested in the bbk, but would probably be cheaper just source the 2010+ WRX STI brakes. Interestingly I had a similar idea regarding the interior that coincided when the tS got announced as I liked the recaro sportster cs. These are the same seats being used in the tS. Also, to finish off my alcantara interior, was going to do the door armrests as well. What I actually really like is that instrument gauge cluster .

I agree with your points that the car could be a little more impressive than it already is with a power upgrade, but yeah it doesn't exactly NEED it to do what it was built to do. For the parts, I kind of agree and disagree on the badge fever. Yes, it definitely is a lot of badges (currently by my count, there are around 34 clearly visible STI badges on my car ), but they ARE small and subtle with the exception of the wheels (most people don't see the STi badges until they really look up close to my car). And I think the point was made earlier that because the parts can be bought individually, it makes sense for them to add their logos to each one (marketing purposes, etc.). Again, TRD, AMG, M, and all these other OE-based tuning arms do the same and you don't see people complaining about them. I think the problem is brand perception mostly. Not many markets outside Japan really see the STi accessories individually or as packages. STi, especially in the US, is marketed more as a model moniker, which then creates the misinterpretation that anything stamped with the word STi should auto-equate to the high performance variant.

Same specs as GTI wheels. It's conservative but enough to catch your eye and make you want to buy it. That's what oem parts are made to do.

I already have the springs, the flexible engine brace, rear and lateral link assemblies, and I also have the TRD door stabilizers. Beyond that, there's no need for me to further upgrade. The handling capability of the car is already beyond where I would push it to. Ride quality and comfort is already great for me for daily driving as well.

I'm more focused on just minor cosmetic improvements for fun and some things to improve my daily drive such as the audio system.

adding more power to this car and "how it would be nice" is only looking at the bright side of things though. they wanted to focus on making an affordable, true driving enthusiasts car. although it'd drive the same and feel the same with +50hp, i highly doubt the same amount of people would have bought this car if the sticker price started at say 28k-30k (hypothetically). anything additional raises the price

With all this talk about increasing power and adding bling (weight) , it will only add to fuel consumption and that translates to more time spent in the queue for fuel.
Down under in aus , performance cars are often fitted with larger fuel tanks to increase their range.
So is a larger STI fuel tank in the pipeline?
