Haha....also, another reminder, most phones won't work out there in the sticks. Only AT&T works in Leakey. Are you gonna be there Rabble? I put you down anyway so now you have to go.

Sounds great ... if we do it right we'll be concentrating on the road so much that only passengers will enjoy the scenery!

Hey guys, I did the Twisted Sister run on Saturday (8/17) with a friend from Dallas that brought his Miata down. At the tail end of the run (on 337, leaving Leakey), on the extra-twisty rhythm portion, I noticed a newer white/cream'ish Escalade with factory chrome 20's parked off on the side, with an older (at least 50's, probably older) white guy in the driver's seat. We both received speeding tickets for 82 in a 65, which TBH, we both expected. As the cop was giving us tickets, I noticed that same white/cream'ish Escalade pass us by.

After our exchange with the cop, we were back on our way and we caught up with the Escalade, and saw him pull off to a church (i think) parking lot. What threw me off was that I saw the driver on some sort of radio, and after we passed him I noticed that he was turning around to head back towards Leakey.

I'm not 100% sure or anything, but have you guys heard of locals calling in police on drivers out on the Twisted Sister drive? My spidey-sense went off when I saw the guy on a radio after he pulled off... I'm not denying that we deserved the tickets, and we're not disgruntled by any means - it comes with the territory... but I know a lot of you guys do the run fairly regularly - just wondering if 'yall have heard or seen that before?

Anyway... here's a pic from our trip... it's from that abondonded gas station off SH16...

If you or any other Austinites want to caravan to Leakey, we can do a meet-up at the Oak Hill "Y" gym [former Albertson's] parking lot @ 0700.

If I know that others will be there, I'll provide route maps and lead.
On most of my multi-car runs we use FRS [now isn't that a coincidence?] radios set to channel 5 for car-to-car communication.

Whether we caravan to Medina or not, I look forward to running the Sisters on the 7th.

Sep 7 is just a week away!! Can't wait....literally, gonna head out there tomorrow to finish my quest to drive all the T1's in the Texas Hill Country so there will be a slight detour, will only hit 2 of the Sisters but I'm sure it will be a good day! I will be leaving the Apple store after getting some apple ice cream, that stuff is addicting, thanks @Extreme86 for getting me hooked, around 9:15. If anyone wants to meet up, let me know.
