Someone liked my car so much that they left a present!

I was walking back to my car from my office a block down the street and I notice a small crowd around my car. I see someone jump from the passenger-side door to the back of the car, then walk back. Then I hear a woman ask me if it was my car from 50ft away. I said "Ummm...yeah. Whhhyyyy?" Then I see a screwdriver sticking out of it as I walk up.

That guy in the background was the one that did it. Have the fucker's finger prints on the window and trunk. Too bad I didn't find out until the witnesses said it was him after he left(I don't blame them cause their kids were around), so calling the police was useless(police said that all they'll do is take a statement when I did eventually call). Funny thing is that I'm guessing he stuck around to get his screwdriver back. I'm hoping he stuck around long enough to hear me say that I was going to keep it as a souvenir. Gonna leave it on my dash tomorrow with a note saying "Thanks for the screwdriver!" with his picture on it.

Now I have serious buffeting coming from that side of the car when going over 50mph. Mother Fuck.

Passenger window is chipped, weather stripping is punctured, gasket behind the weather stripping on the inside of the car is punctured, and I'm guessing that the window track needs to be readjusted as well as the door.

If anyone can recommend a body shop in the Boston area that will make sure this thing is fixed right, I'm all ears.

*Please, no comments about the "curse" or racially coded language. TIA

That is crazy. I would still contact the police.you have his picture and a location, they track people like that down pretty quick. I guarantee he lives nearby and will possibly get picked up for doing it to someone else.

So you're going to park in the exact same place tomorrow?...wow.

I also love how the crowd of people just stood there while the guy tried to break in to your car...that's some trashy sht right there. Get out of that ghetto neighborhood and quick.

A-hole was trying to break in before...what do you think he's going to do next...?

Nah...I know the family and it's a bit of a dangerous area. Not worth blowing up their spot when it would only cost me $300 max out of pocket. It could prove a bigger problem for them than me.

I work at a non-profit in the neighborhood and it's been safe for over 4 months in roughly the same parking space on a fairly busy street.

Oh and the crowd was 3 kids and their parents.

edit: If I could park somewhere else, don't you think I would?

I'd take that screwdriver and shove it up their poo poo hole, as revenge. Were they teenagers? Check the security cameras around, if any.

The # of assholes in this world is too damn high. It really pisses me off to see how some people would just have the audacity to do such things.

Edit: I didn't see the guy in the reflection. Yeah I would really file for vandalism just to teach him a lesson.

It was just one dude rolling solo.

I have to wait until tomorrow morning to talk to the manager of the Walgreens I parked next to. I'm assuming there are cameras since someone was shot to death in their parking lot a couple months ago. The on-duty shift supervisor and security guard were no help.
