I think people are missing the point of standardizing vehicle fluid colors. It's so firefighters/EMS know which fluids are present at the scene of a car wreck. I don't see any problem with that; Super Blue can just use a different dye. |

Too much Reddit for me. My first thought reading this; 'Instructions unclear; d*ck now stuck in brake fluid reservoir'

Frankly, I haven't understood the poplularity of ATE SuperBlue or its amber equivalent since I tried the stuff my self in my S2000 a few years back. On day two at Watkins Glen, the pedal started getting softer, the fluid was definitely degrading with high-temp usage.
This was a stock '01 S2000 with new Kumho VictoRacers and new Carbotech XP8 pads, btw. Next event, dual-driving the car (twice the track time, little/no cool-down between stints), with ~85-90F ambient temps (vs. ~75 at the glen), no such issues with off-the-shelf Pennzoil DOT4 over another 2-day track event. Same tires and brakes as before. I've never had any fluid issues with good name-brand DOT4 available from any parts store. Was really surprised that the ATE let me down. Maybe it was a bad batch or something, I dunno, but before and since I've just stuck with Castrol or Pennzoil DOT4. |
