2 things I wanted - HID and SKS.

Crossing my fingers you get the lights - the FR-S deserves them!

Yup, my pursuit of lighting bling isn't for the faint of heart. These lights are a nice addition to my creature comforts / appearance mods.

Just remember though, the 10 series lights aren't fully functioning like the JDM ones. They left out a couple of wires that doesn't allow LEDs to work at night with HIDs.

Easily remedied

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24352

My only hurtle to work thru is the leveling system. I'm having trouble finding the triangular connector manafactured by Koito which interfaces into the leveling motor assembly

Well it may be different going from stock to 10 series. But the 10 series differs from the thread you attached, few of us tried that route. JDM is 8 pin, 10 series is 6 just like the stock headlights. Need to solder something in between 2 empty plugs and then feed it off a 12v somewhere, might be easier with stock headlights have a resistor near the Lower bumper. So yes though, what I was trying to say is that the 10 series would be plug and play 6 pin into 6 pin but it won't function like a JDM where the LEDs have a high and low wire so it remains on with headlights at half capacity.

Sooo....

The picture above is of the 10 Series USDM part and it has only 6 pins in the 8 pin housing. So how do you remedy that? Is it even possible to get at LED low mode if there's not a lead for it (without taking the headlights apart at least)?

...and by the way, @Art_Mighty's $2000 purchase is at a dealer so there's no shipping because he's picking up his parts

SoCal member picked up for 2 grand LHD Euro Spec. (3 months ago maybe)

And for the US Spec 10 series headlight, our price is at $19xx range.

Pretty much the same deal.

If you guys wanna go with the CHEAPEST way.

Get the headlight WITHOUT the Ballast and HID and go with aftermarket HID.

Headlight only Left + Right is $1380

We offer HID Kit as well.
Aftermarket HID Kit $69.99

Branded HID Kit such as Osram or Philips

$169.99 or $259.99

This will be the cheapest way you will find.

$1380 + $69.99 = $1449.99

Or

Purchase the Denso Ballast and Philips D4S 6000K Ultinon bulbs. (Best bulbs 6000K bulbs in the market) to complete the package.

You save the money from a stock bulbs to the best 6000K bulbs. And it works just like the complete package with ballast and bulbs.

You guys can always email / pm me, if you don't see whatever you want on our website.

We can price match or beat anyone price.

JDM/Euro 86 work just like any U.S. Lexus car with LED Strip.

When your headlight (Low Beam / parking light is off), the LED Strip is at FULL Power.

When your headlight (Low Beam / parking light is on), the LED Strip is at 50% of the Power.

?Huhhh?

Yeah. Again no.

It's ok, the community will let that slide if you, Nigel, put all that on your website:

1) US Spec 10 series headlight, on you website for a "price in the $19xx range".

2) A pick-up only special for the EDM headlights for $2000.

I guarantee you would find plenty of willing customers for both. If you're going to turn this thread into a commercial for your parts and services the least you could do is actually step up and provide the headlights at the prices your "advertising" here on this thread.

I am looking forward to see how the 10 series lights work on the FRS @Art Mighty. I am sure you can get the leveling system installed. Yet is it imperative you get the leveling system functioning? I have read that it is not necessary for US. Correct me if I am wrong. Does the 10 series have an auto leveling function?

If you guys like the BRZ headlamps. I found a website where they are selling for around $1200 with full assemblies. I think they look better IMHO and they are easier to wire. One can forego the manual leveling system for this install.

The leveling really doesn't seem to be requirement in the US as there are plenty of cars which come with OEM HIDs and don't have leveling system. Also as far as I can tell no North American bound FT86 cars are equipped with the auto leveling system.

I want to do it just because.

I feel ya. That's how I feel once I install the BRZ headlamps. I want the manual leveling system to be functional. Can't wait to see the HIDs go into your possession. Will show people that RS parts are available to everyone at a certain point in time.
