The JDM 86 headlights will easily cost over $1,000 for the pair. Probably closer to $1600. HID Projectors are generally designed differently from Halogen projectors and cost more. OEM Ballasts and bulbs are not cheap and will factor into that cost of the 86 headlights.

From all of the pics of the FR-S it looks like a Halogen color from the projector, thus the thinking it is a halogen projector.

Most people with the FRS will probably end up sticking a PnP HID kit in and be fine with that. Some people will probably go as far as getting an HID projector retrofitted into the FRS headlights.

I have a feeling the first release series will probably have the JDM 86 headlights.

I love push button start too but like any new device I worry about the potential electrical bugs.

True that. Like my dad would say, it's just one more thing to go wrong! LOL

I wouldn't be worried with bugs with the push button.

Toyota has been doing it since 2006 with the Lexus IS with no problems at all.

Yeah but the FRS is a throw back to simpler times and simpler cars. I like that it's the kind of car I could work on and do my own maintenance with just a set of wrenches and some screwdrivers.

Damn.... Do I wait a year or trade it in for a Yelllow one next year? Damn... I will be eternally envious if I don't get a Yellow one.

I agree, that's exactly what they did with the Celica. Let the base package settle in for a few years then throw out the bright yellow with a lip kit and a different spoiler.

You might as well forget about that one, this car is not going to be like the old days with a carb and plug wires. Even as simple as they say it will be, it's still going to be a bitch to wrench on.

And the programming logic needed to make it work isn't so sophisticated; it was probably completely debugged before Toyota's first integration. It'd be hard not to perfect and bulletproof something so basic.

I got a feeling ONE of those release series will be tricked out with all TRD parts...
I remember the Scion TC release series 5.0 was TRD tricked out ... in black ...
But I have no idea how long it'll take till Scion release a TRD tricked out FR-S..
so the BRZ will be the better bet with a STI (trim) model with probably 250HP
2.0 with upgrade TUNE + intake , exhaust and breaks

this really pissing me off that scion getting the lame bottom line model and no premium version, its like toyota dont care about US buyer.. and probably 90% people here are from the US, arent u guys piss off as much as me
There is still a chance it could be included or be an option in the FR-S. the final specs and options have not been set yet. We just got the bespoke and we did not know about that a few weeks ago. They could add little things at each auto show.

I have been a Scion owner for some time now. Typically Scion comes out with a Release model 12-18 months after the initial release of a particular model. I bought my xD in 2008 when it was released and the xd 1.0RS came out in 2009.
