Just use dental floss to take them out and use wd-40 to remove any excess sticker residue on the trunk. Put new 3m double sided tape on the removed badges if you want to re-install them on the lower portion of the trunk.
Thanks!

@hanstperez,

These might help you make your decision. As tested by DSPORT Magazine, these are the dyno test results of the different air intake systems with the corresponding videos:

These are the dyno test results of the different drop-in filters with the corresponding videos:

It would appear that the Blitz intake system makes the most power but the best value for money would be Blitz drop in filter or any of the drop-in filters for that matter.

Hope this helps.

@NIKDENG, nice post! pero ang weird that the drop-in filters are giving the same amount of gains compared to the intakes.. i might just get a K&N filter if thats the case

btw, did it states that these gains were after tuning or same ECU settings lang? kasi if without tuning, those are good numbers for drop-in filters and awful numbers for intakes hehe

hope everyone is safe, 3rd day already and its still raining

watched most of the vids pero sayang, walang torque nakalagay.. its becoming a misconception that people always look at the power gains and not the torque.. but i think they got it wrong when they posted the gains of drop-in filters since baseline of the FRS is at 176whp and usual gains of the filters only are around 178whp so its not really 5whp gain but around 2whp only.. i knew it was too good to be true

@pcuerpo,

These tests are very consistent with results by other entities which show that the stock intake design of the 86/brz is already a very good design such that by just adding a better breathing air filter results in instant power gains. The tests done by DSPORT magazine where done on a completely stock FRS with no ECU tuning. Some full intake systems such as the Weapon-R and Air Raid actually loose WHP and TQ when no ECU tuning is done, others run into bogging issues, while other intake systems run lean to make the HP gains.

The baseline WHP of the unit used by DSPORT was 172.5WHP so the gains posted are correct. (Baseline WHP differs from one car to another and is dependent on the type of Dyno machine used and testing procedure e.g. hood open or closed during testing, ambiant temperature, gear used, etc.) Torque gains from intake systems and drop in filters are usually minimal with some intake systems actually registering drops in torque in the low rev range. The 5WHP gain from drop in filters have been comfirmed by other testers such as ft86 speedfactory so drop-in filters are really the best when it comes to bang for the buck without having to fool around with your ECU settings (which invalidates your engine warranty).

FT86 speedfactory drop-in filter test results:

STOCK 163.25WHP 136.22TQ

KN 168.68WHP(+5.43) 136.49TQ(+.27)

HKS 168.23WHP(+4.98) 137.9TQ(+1.68)

AFE 168.08WHP(+4.83) 137.42TQ(+1.2)

@ayuk, TRD usually makes their products geared towards quality (better materials, construction, lasts longer, won't invalidate factory warranty) rather than all out performance.

@NIKDENG, true about the differences in numbers even with the Jazz, had that experience.. but it seems they used the same car all throughout and with the intakes, stock number is at 176whp based on their post.. so which is which then? because if the stock whp is at 172whp so the intake gains are higher than posted?

@pcuerpo, They used the same car althroughout the tests which makes the results consistent. The baseline based on the dyno graph of the DSPORT car for the stock intake system is at 172whp. The posted gains are correct:

For the drop-in filters:

Blitz Peak: 178.67whp - 172.5whp (baseline) = +6.1whp
KN Peak: 178.26whp - 172.5whp (baseline) = +5.7whp
Apexi Peak: 178.03whp - 172.5whp (baseline)= +5.5whp

The difference in baseline is most probably due to difference in test environment (different day, different temperature, etc) when they did the tests for the air intakes vs when they did the tests for the drop-in filters. I'll try to get a copy of their magazine with the more complete data to confirm. The important numbers are the change numbers from the stock to the replacement intake.
