Wait you 6 months and a month before hand deposit $500 to pre-order your car (I'm assuming the $500 will also go towards your DP for your car). And he'll give you a call once its in the lot. If anything you could probably test drive one to be pretty set with it.

So in simple terms from what Frank has told me:

You go to the dealer to pre-order your car. Once you've put $500 down you mention to Frank about your membership with the Subaru VIP program (because it only works for factory ordered cars. Meaning only cars you've put $500 down for). Once your 6 months comes up your car should come in and everything except for your financial papers should be set. Your credit check and all that money paper work involved stuff can be sent to you by e-mail by Frank if you ask him. So you might be in and out of the dealer in about.. one or two hours.

So it should be alright to put the $500 deposit now while waiting for the 6 months right?

Thanks for the info!

Or do we wait until the month before to order so that we time it to where our cars come in right at the 6 month point?

I'd wait just a bit until they say they have the BRZ in the order system. I have asked a local dealer before and they basically still said wait until its in the system then make a deposit. From what I recall the Irvine dealer said something similar.

Caveat though, if you're actually close enough to go to Frank in person and work out the terms (maybe I'm just paranoid, but having a paper trail always helps with the refund issue though I suppose you can always go to the bank and just void your check). I mean, I'm from Nor Cal and going to LA isn't exactly a quick drive down, so for me, it'll be until the car's actually in the system.

I would say put your deposit down when it gets closer to date. The $500 deposit right now guarantees you get the car right-off-the-bat. So when the car comes out it WILL be there for you. But since you won't be purchasing until... June-July I would say do it a month before hand.

Wait a month before you order if your 6 months will be in July. And make sure that it is 6 months (because its leap year).

Yup~

If you are close you should go give Frank a heads up. He's a really easy-going and easy to talk too so any questions you have will be answered.

put me down for the first release, i plan to purchase it this summer :]

but too bad it doesn't come in aspen white, or any other "true" white, for that matter...

that might be the only reason why i might jump ship to the scion camp, since their's comes in "whiteout"...

i live in torrance, but i will most likely head to renick subaru in fullerton for the 1% cheaper sales tax... i bought my sti back in 06 from there and i had a great experience...

i currently do not own any vehicle, so it will be a straight up purchase...

Uhm... I think the paint colors are really all the same with different names, just the GT86/FR-S gets the orange while Subaru gets World Rally Blue. I mean logistically speaking, it doesn't seem to make much sense to use slightly different colored paint when all of the vehicles are made in the same factory.

I can be wrong, but it just doesn't seem likely. I'd say wait until you can see it in person lol.

well, of course... but the only reason i would pick the fr-s over the brz is if it's offered in white or the msrp is >$1000 less than the brz-premium...

if neither of those criteria comes thru, i will get a dark grey metallic brz...

So you're going to Renick or Puente Hills? Because as of right now we're getting the best deal from Puente Hills Subaru.

Cool. Give me a heads up if their price for the BRZ is $300 above dealer invoice (I also have a feeling it might go lower).

Best of luck Rosuhere~
