That quoted 10% price increase is fairly significant.
The Mustang is already getting pretty pricey; and while present rebates make it somewhat more reasonable, those are only so high right now because so much of the market is waiting for the new one. A well-optioned GT with track package is $42,000. 10% more pushes it well north of $45,000, and there won't by any rebates on that for a while. That's a friggin' ton of money for a Mustang. You can damn near buy TWO of the Twins for that much. |

That would make the V8 GT500 even better. It's a great deal price compare to the over price M3
.Just need to upgrade all the suspensions parts and call it good. |

Well good. Then you'll have as much horsepower as one Mustang.
![]() And damn, for the price of one FRS or BRZ you could have TWO Nissan Versas! Or one Versa and a Mazda2! Cars are getting more and more expensive. It sucks, but that's just how it is. The price vs performance is still better than just about anything in that range, though. |

This car needed to lose a ton of weight. 400lbs is a good start. I am definitely watching this one. Could be a great car. Just leave the horrible Mytouch/Sync crap off the car..

A ~3100lb performance version will be formidable. It'll be sub-3000# w/ weight saving mods & low fuel levels.
If some of the rumors are true (especially the 5.4L flat-plane crank V8 w/ ~600 n/a HP), look out... I'd actually consider one myself--and I'm not a Ford guy.

I am not interested in the V8 since this would be a daily driver. The fuel economy in the V8 (assuming you drive it aggresively, which I would) would net me about 18-20mpg, whereas I am getting close to 27mpg now in my BRZ with a 40 mile commute each day (20 each way).
Unfortunately, most of the rumors point to the turbo 4cyl being only for Europe and we would get the V6/V8 here... |

Probably the best example is that it cuts the price difference between a nice GT and a Corvette in half. With only a ~$5,000 difference before one steps into a base Corvette, that becomes a real possibility. |

I would love a 400 lb lighter 3.7V6 version or a 2.0T stang.
Let's see here! 3,025 lbs 2.0T=280hp/275tq range RWD IRS 10% hike on the base = $24,999 |

The Turbo is going to be a 2.5T, and Ford has said that it'll cost nearly as much as the V8 (with better economy as the selling point, like what Ford does with its EcoBoost trucks), which will push it closer to $35K than $25K.

Right about the Vette - for a track-worthy version, you at least want to add the Z51 package (bigger wheels, brakes, trans and oil coolers, e-diff, etc) plus the magnetic selective ride control shocks and maybe the performance exhaust - you are getting into the upper 50s. Then maybe the 2LT trim package for the HUD - another $3-4k.
