PB Blaster penetrating oil is amazing.
PB Blaster Dry Film Lubricant works well on those under body bolts during reassembly.
I used new gaskets for the engine, the overpipe and the front pipe.
Extensive use of permatex ultra copper on the vband clamp. No leaks, no noise.
The sound is the same at idle in the engine bay. At the exhaust tips there is a hint of change but nothing loud
At cruise it is still quiet, everywhere else it is louder, and you can hear the FA20 CAI distinctly.
The hot idle with AC on has a shiver/shake that wasn't there prior, wondering if upping the idle would solve this.
All this data is from my daughter, I haven't driven it.
Big smile on her face as she left.

I will send Toni a data log for an updated tune from FA20.
thats what that sound is? i thought it was the header clamp vibrating lol

It is her car, she got it over a year ago for her 16th Birthday, 10 days before the official release date. Other than Data Logging and Suspension Shakedown I do not drive the car.

I build them, they drive them.

Her older sister has a badass 2008 Scion TC. Great car and built heavier.

Got my header put in yesterday, some thoughts.

- The build quality is really good. There is not a weld out of place or a odd metal burr in sight. But the build quality is almost *too* good. The tolerances are extremely tight, and the header must be put onto the studs on the engine as straight as you can possibly muster to get it to go on. Whereas the stock header has a bit of play in it, this absolutely does not. It took a lot of tries and a little persuasion with a rubber mallet, but it does fit.
- I didn't care for the V-band clamp that was included. The clasp on it was huge and I couldn't get it oriented in a way where I was comfortable with its clearance to things around it - primarily the radiator support/fan. Thankfully, since I was also putting on a Perrin exhaust - which also include V-bands in the same size - I just swapped in one of those and it worked like a charm.
- The car is significantly faster in the midrange now - the powerband is definitely more linear. I will need to have the tune tweaked for the header and the other stuff I put on, but just based on the base map I was using before, it feels pretty awesome. First time I've ever been impressed with the power of the car.
- If you hate the UEL sound (I do), then you will love this. It's much smoother sounding than even the stock header, and combined with the Perrin intake/exhaust, it sounds very S2000-ish under load. Definitely different. It's also louder, but with the resonated Perrin exhaust, it's very tolerable. A bit boomy at certain RPMs on the highway, but that is definitely more a function of the exhaust, IMO.
- There is a bit of a buzziness/resonance around 3500rpm at WOT, and a bit more vibration at idle. I think the header is causing these things, but since I did so many other things to the car at the time, I can't say for sure. My header is catless so I wouldn't be surprised if that were the cause. Still, it's not nearly enough of an issue to bother me.

Hope that helps point people in the right direction. I had about a 2-month wait for this, and I'm happy with the initial impressions.

@Andy@FA20Club @FA20Club.com -

What's the current estimated wait time on these?
is the wait any longer or shorter for the UEL's?
Can a bung for wideband be added?

So the Perrin clamp is more compact for same size area? Mind a pic?

Your raised idle with a tune adjustment takes care of the idle vibration i usually idle around 850-900 instead of 600 to eliminate the issue. nd that raspiness is to be expected with any catless header. glad you like it. there is more power to be had with tune adjustment.
