but, well at least in my frame of my mind, i see mainstream & hipsters as essentially the same people but one chooses choice A and the other chooses choice B ( because the initial group chose choice A) lol. I think they are all one and the same tbh.

People are social creatures (than logical ones)...and things like this are more about fashion and social status...

Then there are people of course who like things cause they actually like them and are completely unconnected to the above mentioned drama circle.

Anyway, whether I am make much sense or not ( and hence need to learn my terms...and english?), yea I just don't like seeing people use it as an object to grab attention rather than get it cause they like it. I mean its not something that is making me sweat balls or anything but...meh...whenever I see it...a thought occurs to me and I figure I share it with others...

So what do you have against "hipsters"? They're really nice people and in chicago at least there's a lot of cross pollination between the "hipster" and burning man communities in Chicagoland. I've been to the playa with these folks and they've helped us put up our camps. I've partied with them.

This car will never become a bloated mainstream icon. It will become a religion, devoting the fanatic and becoming a popular choice for the masses in the process. I had an E46 M3 before I bought this car and within 3 days of test driving an FR-S I owned one. It's that good (at least in my eyes)...

I expect the twins to leave the same mark on our culture that the Intergra or the Miata did. Lots of people bought those cars, a few went on to worship them.

What I meant and care about is the FT86 being treated as a decoration piece rather than being appreciated for what it is.

And like I said before it is NOT that big of a deal. I just shared what I had on my mind is all.

Whats annoying is caring about what reasons people buy this car for. In the end they liked the car and they own it like us. Shouldnt be bashing people for reasons like that. They probably bought it for many reasons and thats just one of them.

No one just buys a car just because its the cool thing. They buy it because they like it. People buy the cars because they like the styling and if they bought it also because its a new trend so be it. Stop caring about other peoples intentions. Nothing worse then someone who judges others people like that.

LOL spot on. I hate people who think this car is some sort of rare car when it is actually popular for all sorts of people. You bought this car for all the wrong reasons if you think it was going to be a super rare car compared to other brands/types. Who honestly cares if this car gets popular. Thats dumb as hell if you want this car to not be well known and popular. Its one of the newest cars that people would like to have. Its a popular car wth do people like the OP expect when a new popular car is out that has been anticipated for so long.

The more popular this car gets the better. If it didnt become popular this car would be discontinued in a couple years if it didnt become popular. More aftermarket support will come with more people buying this car. Your acting like a hipster your self hoping this car doesnt become popular, You probably bought it thinking oh new car that not many people will have it. Probably enjoys being seen in the car because not a lot of people heard of it or could get it when it was first released. I don't think the now out of production electric blue color is favored with hipsters, they prefer grey or black. Their motto is buy popular, sell when no longer popular so they pick easy to sell colors like white black grey silver etc.
