i was gonna get a 2012 mustang gt 5.0 then i read on autoblog about toyota working on a sports car with subaru. so thats when i started following the frs/brz development. I was aware of the ft86 concept at car shows but i didnt really like the look at that time. But when the first real images of the frs came out, i was blown away.

still want one but when the opportunity to get the sucessor to the supra, cillica, ae86 i couldnt pass it up. maybe some day a beefy mustang will live in my drive way but it wont ever be as special as my FRs

I bought the FiReStrorm, rather than the 1982 Vette I have wanted for 35 years. In the end I wanted to buy "New".

Nothing, went straight to the BRZ. But I would say a second choice if I didn't get the BRZ, would be a 2013 Mustang GT

'13 Genesis Coupe 3.8 - Up until the test drives, it was a toss up between that and the FRS. Test drove the GC first, and left unimpressed. The power was great, adequate interior space, but the overall, it felt like Hyundai didn't know whether to make a true luxury GT or an affordable sports car. The car felt cheap, even with leather seats, audio system, etc. The handling also left much to be desired. Never got an opportunity to test drive the 2.0T.

Test drove a MT FRS two months later and was sold.

If kids car seats didn't fit into the rear seats (thanks to all the members who posted pics proving car seats could be installed back there), I would have probably ended up getting a Lexus IS250.

I considered the MX-5, but I found it very difficult to get in/out of the car with the top up. Also considered an S2000, but it was difficult to find the exact one I wanted.

The FR-S was a mostly emotional purchase for me, but Im still glad I did it.

Was looking for a used IS350, but, the darn things keep their value. After that then it was FR-S, then TC, then Camry SE (this was a concession to my wife and family and an upgrade from my Corolla XRS (thankfully my wife said that I should get the TC over the Camry)). Even more thankfully everything worked out and I ended up with the best car that I have ever driven.

Well, I'm 29 never had a 4 door since no plans for kids but to appease my parents I test drove a Camry and if felt like a boat. I think the main reason I went frs over brz is the douchiness of the dealer and front bumper. When buying new I don't want to have to take pieces off like front bumper and change it out. Will never fit exactly the same and it's hard getting paints just right due to fading and stuff
